(to whoever was sayin tim would just jab fedor and and win cuz he can knock u out wit 1 or 2 shots) if u think fedor would stay on the outside and throw jabs with tim ur crazy..he would get inside throw bombs and eventually throw tim down and pound him..if fedor can strike with crocop, he would outstrike sylvia as well..this is a real bad match up for tim...well for anybody actually

Tim is actually really good and is possibly the best heavyweight in the UFC of all time even better than Ricco Rodriguez, Josh Barnett, and Randy Couture. He could beat any heavyweight in the world besides Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira and Fedor IMO. I think he even has what it takes to beat Crocop after seeing Crocop struggle against Barnett and Hunt.

But Tim Sylvia has no submissions. Fedor can make people as big as Tim fall to the ground with some punches. And when Tim is on the ground hes done (we all saw Arlovski do the honor and Mir). And against Nogueira it only takes one mistake from his opponents to be put in submission and tap out.

Of course Fedor wouldn't stand on the outside and get jabbed to death. I'm sure that Randy Couture didn't plan to stay in Chuck's range either. My point is that Tim gets no respect and he should. Is anybody a favorite against Fedor? No. He is the best in the world right now. Is Tim a pushover? No. He is a champion as well. Tim's game plan would be just like Iceman's game plan. Strike, Counter-strike, and sprawl. If it goes to the ground, get up as quickly as possible.

yea tim doesnt get any respect..i think hes a real tough guy i just dont see him having much of a chance against fedor, match ups make fights and this is a bad one for tim..the only way he wins is if he can cut fedor..

The latest buzz fro the Sherdog.com forum is that Sylvia has refused the fight with Fedor. Now whether that is due to his contractual arrangements with the UFC and Dana or just himself realizing that it may not be the best situation for him to get into right now, I don't know.

Sounds like the UFC doesn't have much confidence in their heavyweight champion. I don't like Sylvia, so I would love to see Fedor chop him down. It's probably pay back for the Liddell v. Silva fight. Who knows...

Hmmm the fight makes sense as if Pride is lending their champion, Wand, to UFC, Pride would probably ask for the same thing in return.

HOWEVER, I can't see UFC wanting to help Pride promote their first event in what the UFC considers their territory (USA) by giving them their HW champion. If the event were in Japan, I could see it happening.

Well, the Wandy v. Liddell fight isn't going to happen and neither is Sylvia v. Fedor. So, I guess we can start focusing more on the fights that are going to happen...
