The number one thing is going to be financial. We’re looking at different factors, such as the level of exposure that the organization can bring me and the talent I can go up against. I want to fight anyone that’s on top. I think the No. 1 guy in my division [185 pounds] right now is Dan Henderson. You’ve also got Anderson Silva, who’s real tough, out there, and there are guys like Rich Franklin. It’s such a deep division. I don’t want any easy fights. I want the best fights, the hardest fights…. Just the exposure alone [in the UFC] is worth heavy consideration. It’s something I want a piece of. Every time that I go to corner a friend [or] a teammate at a UFC, or if I just go to watch, I realize I have a lot of fans. Everybody always asks me when I’m going to be fighting in the UFC. It just depends on who is going to make the right offer.
Man I really hope he takes an offer from the UFC as that would totally rock, maybe we will see Kang vs. Filho, Kang vs. Silva, Kang vs. Ace so many questions would be answered. I hope this one happens. What are your thoughts?

The comments on the link were very ignorant. Saying that Denis Kang isn't on the same level of Rich Franklin and Silva is really stupid. Kang is a world class MW IMO and would give even more depth to the already bland MW divison of the UFC

Seriously what is up with people hugging Franklin's nuts? It's really getting old. You'd think after he got tooled by Silva and was super unimpressive and almost lost to Okami that people would realize he's not all that.

Thats what the marketing of UFC and Dana swinging on your nuts can do for you. I think when guys like Filho, maybe Kang, and Silva show up Franklin it will be over for him.

Kang is the man and I'd love to see him in the UFC. Personally, I like Franklin but he is definitely not all that. He's a good fighter, but he has been less than impressive lately. I think Kang is the real deal, and I love the attitude of a fighter who isn't just looking for an easy belt, but the absolute toughest competition available. My kind of fighter.

Yeah, from a completely unbiased point of view (honest here) I really think that Kang would dominate against the top MW's in the UFC. I think that there are some people who just don't know who he is. He could easily be the best MW in the world, even if he's only ranked as number 6. He's very well rounded. His standup is very good, and he has a BJJ black belt under Marcus Soares up in Vancouver.

it still remains to be seen how he would fare in the UFC with UFC rules...

IMHO I think he would fare well regardless... if only he would indeed sign with the UFC ...please please :praise01:

sadly enuf, I think that still woulda happened in the Pride ring :(

...anyhoo... im threadjackin now
I think Gonzaga could have still taken Cro Cop to the ground but you can't throw elbows in Pride and Cro Cop said himself that the elbows messed him up and everybody has been dogging on him for not training in a cage so the atmosphere will be different too but I think Kang has fought in a cage before anyway so it wouldn't matter that much, or as much as Cro Cop.

Cro Cop was an idiot going into that fight, no offense. But you don't come to an organization where they allow elbows and then not train for them; that is just asking for trouble-which he found. If your a fighter you train for all aspects of the game, Fedor has worked elbows into his training and added them to his repertoire-thus showing how smart and dangerous Fedor is. As for Kang I am sure he has worked them/trained for them and if he was to sign with the UFC I am sure he would add them after seeing what happened to Mirko.

If he really wanted the best fighters, he wouldn't be so concerned about the best financial offer.
Yeah cuz who wants to feed thier family or have nice things? It all ties together and frankly he has to do what's right by his bank account and not his rep, IMO.

Why do people hug Franklin's nuts? Because the guy brings it EVERY time. He lost to Silva and Machida, two very talented fighters. But I guess because he lost to those guys, we should forget the fact he tooled guys like Evan Tanner?

Rich has a great chance at beating Anderson Silva if he goes in and avoids the clinch game. His victory over Okami wasn't great, but you know what? Nobody looks amazing against Yushin Okami, he makes fighters look dismal and ineffective.

Because Rich got KO'd by Silva doesn't make him less of a great fighter and a fantastic ambassador for the sport.

On-topic:

I hope this Kang rumor is true, he is a freakin' monster at 185. Kang vs Silva would be an AMAZING fight.
