On another thread on this forum I mentioned that I evaluated this fight hit-for-hit, takedown-for-takedown completely. Here are the results and why I think Karo got robbed but Diego understandably won due to his great performance in the last 3 minutes of the fight. But like I said, if the judges had the chance to do what I just did then they would see that Karo won no doubt about it (in my opinion). I don't really have anything against Diego he's a great fighter, a bit annoying, but still a great fighter. Karo is one of my favorites but I made sure I did not favor him at all while scoring this fight. These are all the honest-to-God true facts of the fight and if you don't believe me, do it yourself and see. It only took me about an hour to do with my DVR. I will tell you that I did not count any of the weak, half-hearted punches or other strikes that were thrown or landed while they were in a clinch or on the ground. These kind of strikes are not important because they throw them with almost no effort and only do it so the fight doesn't get broken up or stood up or to distract the fighter, not so much to actually knock their opponent out or inflict any sort of serious damage. There were a lot of these kind of strikes thrown throughout the whole fight but none of them were counted except the ones that were obviously intended to inflict damage.

jdun11, you should at least be kind to wouldluv2fightu for doing this. This took time and I bet if you tried jdun you would drop the topic in seconds. I think it is a pretty reasonable assessment although I still believe Diego won round 2.

I know you can dominate from the bottom, but nobody did during this particular fight. Every time one was on top, they were dominant. Nobody was dominant on their back during this fight. And the fact that you just said "Diego won every round" proves you don't know what you're talking about.

I know Diego won the ****ing fight people. But you guys need to realize that there's more to a fight than just who makes who bleed worse. Those are barfight rules. This is MMA. I'm not saying the judges made a bad decision or that Diego didn't deserve a win. I realize that the fight is judged immediately after the end of the 3rd round and that the judges only have what they just saw to go by to make a decision. Diego won the fight I already acknowledged that before I even started typing out the scores. But Karo deserves more credit. You can't say Diego was hitting harder just because Karo was bleeding. Trust me I just watched every exchange in slo-mo several times and I know Diego got rocked quite a bit more, it just didn't break the skin. Everyone's skin is different and maybe Karo just has the tendency to bleed a bit more than other people. When I see someone's head double-bounce in mid-air, that tells me it was a pretty hard hit, and Diego's head was double-bouncing constantly. Diego was swinging wildly throughout the fight as shown by his thrown/landed ratios and also makes it look like he is the better fighter but he missed a lot more than Karo did. Diego won the fight no arguement there I saw his hand get raised therefore I know he won. But Karo is a better fighter, and decisions mean nothing. You win or lose a fight by finishing it, the fight isn't over until someone gives up, gets knocked out, or dies lol. My opinion is that Karo statistically won the fight. You have your opinions and I have mine. That's what this ****ing forum is for. All I did was share my opinion in a nice way and ask for yours. I didn't ask you to be assholes about it. If you don't like my opinion then that's fine but stop being pricks. It's not like this changes the outcome it's just my opinion and could be an interesting thread if you would just stop being so defensive towards your boyfriend Diego. Diego is an awesome fighter no doubt about that. But Karo is better and fought better in this fight, but gassed. Diego won because he LOOKED like the better fighter. That's how every fight gets decided and I'm cool with that but I am just sharing the other ways of scoring a fight. If this fight were to go until someone drops or gives then I think Diego would have been victorious. But since the fight is officially over at 15:00 I don't think it would have been the case. It was a very close fight so I don't see how you can say Diego won every round.

Do me a favor and tell me why YOU think Diego won this fight, and don't say "cuz that's what the judges scored it" in YOUR OWN WORDS IN YOUR OWN UNIQUE OPINION tell me what you saw to make Diego win every round. If you're going to say stupid stuff like that at least back it up.

Wouldluv2fight, out of everybody who thought Karo won you are the only one who made a convincing arguement. I still disagree with you though because the strikes that Diego threw at Karo during all three rounds did more damage then Karo's strikes.

I say Diego won as well. He pushed the pase and accomplished more (like nocking out a tooth). . .I think. However, that was a great fight and Perisian put up a hell of a battle. Who do you guys think should be next on Diegos list?
