Gus lost decisively (despite what Bones haters want to make themselves think) and then beat a no-namer on a program nobody subscribes to. Bones would rather try to add another name to his list, and I don't blame him. Dana just wants the Gus fight because there are barely any stars in the US, so the UFC is trying to create regional overseas ones instead.
Sorry for the double post, but you can't actually believe that Jones won decisively? I'm a bit Jones fan. He might well be top 5 all time, without question the greatest LHW of all time...but he in no planet won that decisively. I called it a draw, and could EASILY have given Jones' rounds to Gus.

I get that Cormier has an amazing background, but in his UFC career we're getting fairly ahead of ourselves. "I've never seen Hendo get thrown around like that". How many Heavyweight Wrestlers has Hendo faced exactly? Kevin Randleman in his first UFC fight would have spent about 3 seconds on the feet in each round against current Hendo before taking him down. I reckon Chael Sonnen has no issues with taking Hendo to the ground either.
How long ago was that? People arent saying DC deserves a shot because of his boxing in the least bit.

His wrestling seems pretty good?

To throw Barnett around like he is Nate Diaz is very impressive. Is he supposed to fight guys he isnt given? So because hr hasnt thrown around a Rashad means his wrestling is highly questioned???

Not many people are saying they expect DC to throw Bones around like he has to others. But he no doubt is one of the very best wrestlers in mma. To say he isnt is laughable.

You can't say "How long ago was that?" and then use something almost equally as long as as your reference in the next sentence

But people weren't claiming that Cormier was the best ever after the Barnett win, his hype train has grown ridiculously.

To be honest, coach or not, I think Cain absolutely schools Cormier in wrestling inside the Octagon. Cain has proven his grappling and wrestling skills against everyone he's faced really. If Cormier was able to control Junior Dos Santos the way Velasquez did, then I'd completely say "Hands up, this guy's amazing". In MMA, Cormier isn't even in the same ballpark of impressiveness that Cain Velasquez is in. Yet people are still saying Cormier's the best wrestler in the UFC? Well when he does what Cain does against the level that Cain does it against, them maybe I'll be persuaded.

I thought it was absolutely a decisive win. Was it a close fight? For sure. But just because it was a close, competitive fight doesn't hide the fact that Jones clearly won at least 3 of the last 4 rounds. People want to tell themselves otherwise because Gus was a huge underdog, Gus won round one, and Gus hung in there until the final. But he had his chance, and Jones took the fight from him. If there was nobody else for Jones to fight, then I'd be more OK with Bones/Gus. But I've been an advocate for Bones/Cormier after Cormier beat Hendo, because there are too many instant rematches or close rematches that aren't warranted.

You claimed it was just "Jones haters", but you're in the minority of people, every Jon Jones fan included, that thing it was a decisive win. I'd personally prefer for him to fight Cormier while Gus fights someone a little bit more reputable (I'm a big Poster Boy fan too), and I agree with the sentiment that Jones won't want to do any rematches (I believe this is something he said in regards to Machida in the past too). But Gus in a lot of people's eyes won that fight, and didn't lose it in the eyes of people including myself.

To say Dana White is just trying to big up Gus is ridiculous. Why would he want to put all his eggs in the basket of promoting the quiet Swede over the talkative Olympian American?

Even less people know Cormier than Gus, and he's getting up there in age a little bit, and he has been somewhat boring in the UFC so far.

Gus is young, looks like a top guy, is on the video game cover, Dana (pathetically) listed him in the top 5 stars UFC has, they're going for regional draws like Gus and McGregor, and Dana knows Bones/Gus 2 would draw a little better than Bones/Cormier. That's why.

Can you show me one person who has ssaid he is thr best ever?

So because DC hasnt faced all the killers on way yo a title shot it means he isnt the wrestler cain is? Who did cain out wrestle before his Brock fight? And im not sure what cain vs dc has to do with dc getting a shot and having a solid chance at winning???

Not following you.

I like Jones but this is bitch move.

Having said that, I think DC has a fighter's chance to win this. The guy has been very impressive.

Jones wants Cormier now? I hope UFC doesn't back down, Gustaf is in his head.

I can't wait to watch DC lift Jones up and slam him. I foresee it happening more than once.
