Oh my god i cant even express how obtuse i find this opinion.

I think Cormier is heads and tails a more dangerous fight for Jones than Gus who Jones already beat.

I found gus vs Jones to be close but not close enough to be called anything but just that, a close fight that Jones won even wile fighting with serious injury.

Gus isn't owed a rematch but the fans want it because it was competitive but I think Cormier should get the shot before someone who already lost.

Jones wants to fall back onto his ever evolving poking game. That works best against shorter opponents using the range game. Jones hated being beat up by Gustafsson. Now we know why Jones did not even wanna mention Gus name in interview.

That said, I still think Jones vs Cormier is a good fight and I look forward to that fight as well.

Gus is young, looks like a top guy, is on the video game cover, Dana (pathetically) listed him in the top 5 stars UFC has, they're going for regional draws like Gus and McGregor, and Dana knows Bones/Gus 2 would draw a little better than Bones/Cormier. That's why.
You're contradicting yourself quite a bit ITT, but I'll settle with this. You're trying to downplay Gus's popularity, but at the same time mention how he's on the cover? Unlike Jones, he wasn't put on the cover, he was voted by the people over Chael Sonnen, UFC's hugest star Ronda Rousey (who actually was upped by Miesha Tate ) and GS ****in' P! But I guess he's just a regional star, since everybody knows that only the Swedish play video games, right?

I think you're a good poster, but you're really reaching here. It was a very close fight which could've gone either way. It's not only Jones haters who think Gus got the better of the champ in that fight. A rematch is very warranted.

All that said, I'm fine with either fight (IMO both guys will beat the champion), but seriously **** you Jones for always trying to play the game and choosing who you're going to fight next! Do the right thing, shut the **** up and fight whoever they tell you to!

I honestly don't care who he faces. Gus had his shot and didn't do enough to get the belt. Cormier is just as deserving.

by asking for DC, I think Jones wants to try and "force" the UFC into a contention eliminator between Gus and DC, thus effectively eliminating one of two dangerous contenders.

I believe it goes hand-in-hand; his hardcore followers in Sweden voted him in. It is like in basketball and baseball (on a grander scale), undeserving players from China and Japan would get voted into the all-star game all the time due to people supporting their countryman.

A lot of people scored the fight with their heart. Pretty much all media outlets had it for Bones. I know it is far from the "end all be all", but I think people were taking surprises and preferences into who they think won. A close fight does not merit a rematch. Since they fought, Bones beat Glover in a PPV main event while Gus beat a no-namer on Fight Pass. That does not exactly stack up. Cormier scares me more and I hate him, but I would way rather Bones/Cormier.

Jones quite clearly wants nothing to do with Gus. Ducking him plain and simple and he quite clearly thinks Cormier is the much easier fight, to which I agree.

Cormier is a poor mans Cain Velasquez. Yes, he's got some nice take downs and slams and has good ground control, but in terms of MMA wrestling, Jones is superior. In terms of striking, he's superior. Cormiers ground and pound is virtually non existent.

If Jones beats Cormier and stops ducking Gus and beats him in the rematch, there has to be a Velasquez superfight.

I'm good with either opponent. More so Cormier.... Jones already holds a win over Gus.
