Couple of skinny ladies put these gorillas to shame early tonight.

Schaub looked so upset by the result. His face was looking bad anyway, but you could see it in his eyes that he felt he was robbed.

I actually tuned in at the end of the fight, so I don't know. Glad to see Arlovski get the nod though.

How could they score it 30-27? Andrei was moving more, pressuring him against the cage and being more active. For example, round 1 from MMAJunkie:

Quote:
Round 1 – Big welcome for Arlovski in his UFC return. Touch of gloves starts the fight. Arlovski flurries into the clinch and presses Schaub against the fence. They battle for position, and Arlovski continues to press from the outside. Crowd boos a bit as they’re stuck in this position. Arlovski drives in a few knees and finally pulls away. Schaub fires punches on the restart. Arlovski gets to the center. He’s a little hesitant, and they end up back in the clinch. Once again, nothing there, and they reset. Two minutes left. Schaub works in an uppercut. Arlovski with a low front kick. He grabs the body and wants a trip, but Schaub pushes him away. Arlovski works inside yet again. Arlovski not getting much done in that position. Schaub tries a late takedown of his own, but Arlovski stuffs it, and the round ends. Not much going on there to score. MMAjunkie leans toward Schaub, 10-9.
This doesn't read out like Schaub is the winner. Those clinches gave Andrei the fight.

I don't think he was active against the cage, that was really wall and stall. I like the site that called both rounds 1 and 2 10-10's. I've found 1 site that gave the fight to Arlovski (411.mania).

I don't think anyone thinks Andrei was active against the gage. He still got Schaub against the cage, dictating and deciding where and how the fight took place. Doesn't make sense to score this for Schaub for the lack of action.

The uppercut was more significant than the no strike clinching.

Round 1: Big John McCarthy is the referee in charge. Arlovski charges in with a series of rights and presses Schaub against the fence. Nothing happens and they separate, which leads to Schaub scoring with a huge right hand. Arlovski moves back, but appears to be ok. Arovski back to stalking. They clinch again and Arlovski is pressing Schaub into the fence. They separate again and Schaub lands a lead uppercut. Arlovski attempts another clinch and Schaub shrugs it off. Schaub attempts a big overhand right, but it ends with the two clinched again. They separate and Schaub reaches for a double leg, but it's stuffed.

MMA Fighting scores this round 10-9 Schaub
I think this was more my feelings watching that fight.

I wouldn't take any site's scoring seriously if they score any round 10-10. That is just not how MMA is scored.

I'd say that first round was the picture of what a 10-10 should look like. Arlovski kinda wrestled well, Schaub kinda landed two good strikes and kinda rocked him. If that fight was a prelim fight that first round would have been 10-10.
