What is it with Brazilian fighters total inability to partake in a bit of banter. All of them are so uptight.

It makes no sense. I have a few Brazilian friends and none of them are like this. They love a bit of silly fun and games. Its evident from how well the people accepted Sonnen and enjoyed some of his tomfoolery. But the fighters? Man, they need to lighten up.

I was gonna post something very similar. Why does everything to these Brazilian fighters always seem to either be a sign I respect or disrespect. Why can't it just be hey he made a funny.

Seems pretty harmless to me, and pretty funny. Hope Mendes takes out Aldo, or at least puts on a better fight than last time. Mendes is definitely the biggest threat to Aldo at 145.

If people haven't paid attention, throughout MMA history fighters get fired up over anyone jabbing a training partner like this. Big or small, training partners will take offense and say something if it is a close knit group.

Aldo is speaking up for his long time gym in Alpha Male saying one of their best guys needs to come take a Bang Ludwig class. Who wouldn't? And who hasn't. Throughout time people no matter where they are from take offense and take a stake in payback. It is less now because fighters move around, move up in gyms, are more for personal gain as an individual. But it still happens.

Is it a HUGE deal? No. But where did Aldo act like it was either? He gave his thoughts and said he will beat down Mendes if they want to talk about who gym is whos. Is he not aloud to react? Is he supposed to laugh in an interview? I don't get it?

If you were to beat a guy a couple times handily and not boast or talk down your opponent.....then he beats you once and not only him, his whole team does from the start? You are saying you would laugh and wouldn't have a problem? I doubt 10% of this board would actually feel nothing or that it was funny if it was their teammates, coaches, friends. Well 10% of you that have actually played sports or competed at something.

If its Cruz and Faber and this happened cool. But NU has never disrespected them nor talked down on them. So whats with all this nonsense?

Not classy in victory at all, especially when the team was what? 0-5 or something against NU?

The problem with Aldo's reaction is that just last year he was calling Anthony Pettis a ***got and made fun of Korean Zombie and bunch of other past opponents. It's really pathetic how he likes to dish it out, but can't take it back. Why is he so butthurt anyway? It was a harmless joke, and it wasn't even about him! And then there's that nonsense company line of "you come to fight to Brazil right now if you man enough"...

Never will I ever be fake, never will I follow

Good stuff.

Agree with the Brazilian stuff. You don't see fighters declaring "for americaaa" attitude in the states.

Unnecessary overemphasise on nationalism is silly. Brazilians mma fighters take it to a completely retarded level.

Do you really want to compare Brazilian nationalism against American nationalism. Really, really?

Anyway. That episode has nothing to do with that. NU people are indeed butthurt about the unexpected loss of their BW title and that made them touchy and prone to say stupid stuff and to overreact about a simple joke.

Yes, Aldo was singing the "samba" music with lyrics picking on Pettis and KZ. It was just a joke, so now he should chill out as well.

The fighters are primadonnas and they have no idea how to engage in banter, it's sad and cringe worthy by them really. Imagine if I said why did the chicken cross the road? to get to the other side hahaha, aldo would probably say no hespect cheekens I will have revenge for the cheekens
