With Bobby Green pulled in favor of a UFC on FOX 12 appearance, Ross Pearson (15-7 MMA, 7-4 UFC) has agreed to step in and face Abel Trujillo (12-5 MMA, 3-1 UFC) at UFC Fight Night 47.

UFC officials announced that the shuffle caused by Michael Johnson’s withdrawal from UFC on FOX 12 is now complete, and the Pearson vs. Trujillo matchup is now set.

Featuring a light heavyweight matchup of Ryan Bader vs. Ovince Saint Preux, UFC Fight Night 47 takes place Aug. 16 at Cross Insurance Center in Bangor, Maine. The official bout order has not yet been established, but the main card airs on FOX Sports 1.

Pearson returns to action for the first time since a controversial split-decision loss to Diego Sanchez at June’s UFC Fight Night 42 event. It was the second consecutive bizarre appearance for Pearson, who also had a no-contest result in October when an illegal knee from Melvin Guillard forced the disappointing ending.

Trujillo has won back-to-back fights since a no-contest bout with Roger Bowling that was stopped due to an illegal knee that kept Bowling from continuing. In the rematch in December, Trujillo won with an impressive second-round TKO, and he followed that up in February with a “Knockout of the Night” and “Fight of the Night” win against Jamie Varner at UFC 169.

With the change to the card, UFC Fight Night 47 now includes:
Ryan Bader vs. Ovince Saint Preux
Shawn Jordan vs. Jack May
Tim Boetsch vs. Brad Tavares
Ross Pearson vs. Abel Trujillo
Sam Alvey vs. Tom Watson
Seth Baczynski vs. Alan Jouban
Jussier Formiga vs. Zach Makovsky
Robbie Peralta vs. Thiago Tavares
Fabricio Camoes vs. Gray Maynard
Sara McMann vs. Lauren Murphy

It's too bad I got to work that day. Bangor isn't far from me.

This one could go either way.

Is it the thought of having your dick next to another's? :innocent01:

I'm taking Pearson for this one. No is his chance to prove he's worth more than the mid-card!
