Best TUF non winners... *spoilers*

After watching Bermudez destroy Guida, it got me thinking that quite often the guys on the Ultimate Fighter that often perform the best in the UFC are not the winners.

Who do you reckon is the best to come off the show as a non winner?

I'm going to be doing an "atricle" on the best success from a TUF season, so I'll reserve judgement until then.

7-0 with an easy win over Guida though? Hard to dispute.

It'll take some season to beat Bermudez, Dodson and Dillashaw.

Ironically a lot of the winners have fallen off; Riddle, Joe Stephenson, Kendall Grove, Efrain (although he's back), the Albino guy vs Michael Johnson, and who can forget Colton Smith.

The runner ups seem to do better; Uriah Hall, MJ as mentioned, TJ, Brown, etc.

I think losing made them mentally stronger to get better. The winners had an inflated sense of worth, but didn't realize they simply won the "tryouts" imo. Once they got into the Octagon vs veterans they realized how much better the competition was.

No Mercy, Matt Brown didn't make it to the final. I was about to say "Well there's more losers than winners" but I realized everyone else you mentioned was a runner up.

Brookins and Wilks are the saddest two to me. Wilks being DeMarques might have been THE fight to get me into MMA. That season was pretty much the first thing on TV for us in UK, and Wilks being the major underdog and winning it for our side of the world was HUGE.

Completely forgot about TJ. The fighters on that season have had crazy success. Must be the Bisping influence

I'm doing wins-losses (in and out of UFC) with percentages, title shots, title wins and fighters cut (with percentages) so hopefully even I figure out what's the best season.

So far the Dillashaw season and the first season smash the rest. (I haven't done like season 2 - season 10 yet).

Yeahbi was gonna mention Kenflo too. 12-4 since TUF with 2 title fights is solid. Faired better than Diego imo.

Here's the sample of how those two seasons look on paper.

THE ULTIMATE FIGHTER 1
126-84-1 (91-60 in UFC)
59% Wins (60% Wins in UFC)
1 UFC Champion
2 Hall of Famers
1 Strikeforce Champion
5 UFC Title Shots
8 Fighters Cut (50% of the Season)

THE ULTIMATE FIGHTER 14
50-41 (46-35 in UFC)
55% Wins (57% Wins in UFC)
1 UFC Champion
2 UFC Title Shots
4 Fighters Cut (25% of the Season)

"Time" is obviously a huge factor also.

Yeah TUF 1 put out a lot of good fighters that didn't win. Kenny Florian, Chris Leben, Mike Swick, Stephan Bonnar and Josh Koscheck.

-Always Supporting-
Miesha Tate - Urijah Faber - Dustin Poirier - Frankie Edgar - Diaz Bro's - Claudia Gadelha - Demian Maia - Jessica Eye

TJ. He achieved something Kenflo and Diego never could.
