Mark Hunt opens up to local newspaper

Discusses his past mindset, his current professional status and what it took to make him the man he is today.

Apparently when Hunt said last month he was out of a job, he was conveying frustration over contract negotiations with the UFC. He wanted a 3 fight deal, the UFC wanted him contracted for 8 fights. They settled on 6 fights in what appears to be a lucrative deal, there is even talk of a title fight next year, if he wins his next fight at the very least I'd imagine.

So would I, but Cain is a superior athlete and is far to intelligent to stand with a man that could end his career with one punch.

BTW... The UFC OWES not Mark Hunt a Huge Contract after that comeback he displayed after giving us fans some of the best stand-up wars in HW History. I Love this man from a fans perspective. He has done allot for the sport and helped carry a really weak division imo.

Cain just smashed apart a man who can knock him out with one punch, a man who i think has more one punch power than Hunt at that...

Cain made JDS pay for 50 minutes straight pretty much. I need to see the following matchups before the title fight.

Hunt vs The Reem
Hunt vs Hapa (I would like to see Brown get KOed.)
Hunt vs Mir (Cuz any fight with Mir is usually fun to watch. Either he's submitting someone or he's getting his light put out.)
Hunt vs Barnett
Hunt vs BF again

Hunt vs Hendo. Two of the best chins in the history of the sport. I need to see if Hendo can withstand his punches.

Yah he was a much underrated fighter who came onto his own. Glad to see the UFC pay the man his dues. Anybody know his previous salary.

I'd be happy with Hunt getting his title shot with a win, I think this is similar to when GSP got knocked out by Serra the UFC threw a series of KO artists against him.
