James Krause vs. Jorge Masvidal
Patrick Cote vs. Stephen Thompson
Brian Ebersole vs. John Howard
Preliminary card - UFC Fight Pass - 7.00 PM ET
Kevin Lee vs. Jon Tuck
Manny Gamburyan vs. Cody Gibson
I got Jorge Masvidal.... he should be on the main cards already he's proven himself. It's a solid opponent for him but IMO he should be fighting a top 10 opponent right now.
Patrick Cote over Thompson..... Thompson's nasty in his own right and will do big things in the future but Cote is a vet and his boxing and power should be enough to put The Wonder Boy Down.
Tuck beats Lee out of just being the better and more well rounded fighter. Tuck shows flashes of greatness when he fights, Hopefully we see some impressive stuff from him.
Ebersole is a grimey fighter. I think he's grittier than Howard. He's gonna fight where ever it goes and will probably win by decision.
My upset pick for the night is Mizugaki over Cruz. Takaya is an absolute beast. He's aggressive well rounded and relentless. This is not the guy you want to fight after a 2 year lay off with multiple injuries and surgeries. if Cruz was in the mix, fully healthy and had more fights in a 12 month period before this fight I'd lean towards him. But right now Cruz is cold and he's not gonna start his run back to the title through Mizugaki. Mizugaki wins this and possibly by stoppage.
I think WOnderboy beats Cote fairly easy. Got Cruz, Jorge. And...Howard. I always pick Ebersole. What a weird cat. Howard is gritty as well. Should be a goofy one.
Wow! *spoilers*....Manny was getting outclassed and sinks in a stunner choke that looked like he was about to lose it. 4 sec from end of rd. Impressive heart. Especially after that nut shot from hell.
Surprised Cote couldn't get the takedowns. That was the difference unless he charged in Robbie, Wandy, Matt Brown style and put a relentless pace...then strikers like Thompson, Justin Lawrence, Cruikshank, Lyoto, will get into trouble. They're accustomed to point fighting so they always need their distance. Stylistically it was an entertaining fight.
Masdival is not making the statement he had his mouth putting out there. While he should easily get the win the truth is he was calling out the top of the division and this proved he still has a long way to go.
