Nine years with the company and making less money to show up than Stipe Miocic and Stefan Struve. No offense to them but Nate is getting screwed over.

Nate got 50,000 to lose his first fight of this contract, 15,000 for the second loss. His contract is probably floating depending on his record and I bet he would be making a hell of a lot more if he was winning fights.

I wonder how many fights Overeem has on that contract. He has a huge PPV cut as well, i reckon he'd get a cut of the PPV whereever has was on the card, right? That's why they aren't putting him on one.

Thought Diaz should get paid more but then again he missed a media event, weight and lost the fight so..

Nate was on Chaels Podcast a few weeks back explaining how the UFC screwed him. They promised him a renegotiation when he took a fight on short notice then wouldn't do it after he lost the fight.

Welcome to the big time kid.... here's your 8,000 pay check!!

If you fight 3 times a year you will clock 24,000 every 12 months!! Don't spend it all in one place son!

Well if you fight 3 times a year and win you make 48,000K, plus however much the sponsor deal is going to get them. Maybe you can get a bonus, but I know that is a pretty hard thing for someone on the prelims to do, but Entwistle did it. I would say if you lose all three fights you aren't going to be making much in the UFC past that anyway.

I do agree that is a hard way to make a average living.

According to this article, Diaz has a 60K/60K deal.

Diaz recently revealed that he now makes $60,000 to show, even though he was "conned" into accepting an eight-fight deal. If that's still accurate, Diaz forfeited $12,000 to dos Anjos for the scale fail and another $10,000 for the undisclosed fine that White mentioned, leaving him with just $38,000 in earnings inside the Octagon for 2014. That's just not going to cut it.

One thing I do want to point out is that these guys "putting their bodies on the line" isn't for us, and it's not for their families. They enjoy it. Simple as that. These fighters take pity on every one of you who gets by working in an office.

But 40k a year for a UFC fighter is too low. Fighters in UFC should be making around 25k a fight, giving them an average of 75-100k base every year, a comfortable living without any outside endeavours which are optional.

I mean this for a fighter who's like 3-0 though. I have NO problem with UFC only paying 8k for brand new fighters. There is no point in wasting money on guys you don't think are going to be good for the company. 8k for your first 3 fights, 25k base pay after they are finished, then boosts up from those optional. I think this keeps everyone humble but offers good money to active fighters.

I'm worried about Over Reem he is paid way too high to the point that if he doesnt keep winning I can see UFC wanting to cut him but they probably won't because they don't want to give up a huge hulking beast to another Org. But man he gets paid a lot for how much he's lost and how low of fighters he is fighting now.

Overeem had the skills to be the most exciting and dominant HW fighter of all time...before we discovered his chin. UFC wanted him BAD and paid for it. THAT is why UFC shouldnt throw truck loads of money at people.

Diaz isn't throwing fights. 99.99999999% of the time Diaz loses to RDA by the exact same method.

Overeem has had a questionable chin LONG before he started getting knocked out in the UFC.

You have to remember Overeem was on a massive win streak and a lot of people, myself included were dying for him to fight in the UFC. Many of those people, again, myself included, thought he could potentially become champ.

He came in as the current Strikeforce champ (if my memory serves right), and glory champ, so yeah. he had some pretty big hype behind him.

He made a shit tonne of money in the brock fight and honestly, he is definitely one of the bigger draws in the HW division.
