I disagree, and I'll be seriously rooting my butt off for him. But realistically I think he's been around a while and the sport might be passing him by, in my opinion. Al Iaquinta is hungry as hell, and believe he will surprise Lauzon and take him out, or beat him decisively in a UD.
I'm going Lauzon all the way! As others have mentioned, Joe doesn't seem to every make it out of a fight clean faced... so I'm sure this will be a damn good fight.
I can't help but feel like this is another horrible fight for Joe. Iaquinta is a massive LW who's scary strong. Feel like Joe is just going to get ragdolled.
Al has three losses on his record, do you know what all 3 of the fighter who beat submitted Al have in common? I do none of them are a tenth the grappler that Lauzon is.
Picking Iaquinta as well. He has solid wins with an interesting style for this fight, and it's not like Lauzon hasn't disappointed in fights he should win. People actually trust Lauzon's consistency enough to put big bets on him? That's bold, I'll give them that. Lauzon certainly could win this fight impressively, but I'm going to stick with Al.
Joe has kept his hands up and blocked or partially blocked a lot of shots. Al keeping his hands down and eating almost everything Joe throws. Al's offensive boxing looking good his fight IQ I question
Lauzon is a tough guy but all his wars are catching up to him. Al is looking better with every fight, I'd like to see him fight Khabilov or Miller next
Lauzon wins the first, but it's pretty clear he's on the downhill side of his career now. One of my favorite fighters to watch regardless of rankings. Great win for Al.
Hate seeing Lauzon go out like that, I never even knew much of Iaquinta till he stopped Pearson. Now's the time to step up this guys opposition, I'd like to see how far he can go
Called it. Iaquinta is underrated and hopefully people have realized this now. And being the Bisping of his division isn't necessarily a bad thing. I doubt he will get into title contention, but his job should stay secure for a while.
