Geez this one is tough. Woolley is super inconsistent. killer Woodley can take anybody in the Ww division while I think Gastelum can certainly beat mail it in Woodley.
Tough to call, Gastelum got tagged so many times against Ellenberger that he had to take it to the ground after eating a big shot. I hope his fight IQ is better against Woodley.
woodley is a stupid person we all know it , he'll gas himself in the first round and at least lose a decision . can't wait to see what kelvin will do in the division
Woodley is "explosive and athletic" if you know what I mean.
Could be a real close fight. Multiple way it could play out.
I favor Kelvin. Better striker. Same level wrestling with Kelvin being more of a grinder. Kelvin better in the grappling department Overall. Gas tanks not sure... Woodley has a punch power advantage and may be quicker to the punch if he decides to really go for it.
Kiss of death for me. But Kelvin is a fresh 23 years old. Has looked very composed in there thus far. Seems like we will only see.better versions of him to come..
I am still not sold on Gastelum, he was good against Ellenberger after a rough start, but i had Rick Story beating him. I see his defenses failing again and Woodley taking him out.
I like Gastelum. I hope he goes far.
And I can't stand Woodley. His "win" over Condit still bothers me, but I think he'll take a 30-27 over Gastelum. Gastelum is good but as someone said I'm not sure if he's ready for this step just yet. He looked pretty rough against Story and Musoke and those guys really aren't top ten material.

The first round of that Condit fight was the performance of Tyron Woodley's career. If Woodley ever figured out how to do what he was doing to Condit every time he steps in the cage everyone will need to be very afraid, if he ever figures out how to do it for 15 or dare I say 25 minutes I doubt anyone will be able to survive.
People may think Kelvin isn't ready for this step up, but it needed to happen. He's undefeated in the UFC against decent fighters and needs to test the waters. Not doing that isn't fair to let's say.. John Smith. Random guy who let's say is 1-0 or 2-0 in the UFC against a couple of scrubs. Is it fair to force him to face Kelvin, a guy who is probably way ahead of him on the ladder just because Kelvin needs his record padded a bit more before moving up? I don't think so. The kid is young, if he loses to Woodley, the loss could benefit him in the long run and then he has an excuse to get another tune up match. It's time to test his abilities against the next level, and Woodley is actually a winnable fight for him if he can weather the storm early. Kelvin doesn't quit and knows how to grind. It makes for an interesting fight.
I agree he needs to step up... i might not be picking him to win, but there is no reason not to keep escalating his level of competition if he keeps winning. .
Rory laid out a good blueprint how to beat T-Wood. Unfortunately for Kelvin he doesn't have any where near the footwork or striking skills Rory does. I still think Kelvin can win this if his chin holds up, he's going to have to out wrestle and grind T-Wood down. That means he's going to be vulnerable to some power shots in the clinch.
I may be slipping memory of times watching Kelvin recently, but I would say anywhere near. To me Kelvin has very solid footwork and his striking is really getting there if he can tighten his defense. He has a nice jab.
He just isn't tall like Rory. ROry uses his body type well. Long jab and he made it a staple. Nice kicks.
Hard to predict because at times Woodley has looked like a beast. Others he looks like he gets backed up and doesn't want it as much. Kelvin always wants it and he is getting technically good.
Would be an AWESOME win for Kelvin if he can get it. You can't even name Kelvin's skills outside the RNC but it's hard to name a single weakness either. One of my favourites, let's do it man!
I read rumour was he had to visit the hospital but the fight was still on. Believe he said this would be his first fight at ww without Dolce as he didn't feel he could continue to afford him for what he was getting.
some are saying the hospital visit was kelvin and his team trying to make an excuse or anything and that he took the 20% off fine and will fight . i hope if there's anything wrong with that guy even emotionally that he doesn't get in that octagon... he's getting killed tomorrow night
I don't know what to expect it's super uncomfortable for me as I dropped kelvin from my fantasy draft picks but my straight up bets are locked so either way I am losing some cash. It shocks me he could show up so unprofessional for the biggest fight of his career
\last time he missed weight I thought he would lose and be sloppy. Bet against him. He wasn't, he won with no problems at all. He could well be thinking 20% of his purse is not worth that pain, and will just come in nice and heavy to the fight.
I hope so, but thinking about how high Kelvin came in, one guy really drained him self to make 170, one guy hardly even bothered. There has to be some advantage there.
Just thinking about it, if dolce was charging him like 5k or more to help him make weight, thats probably equivalent to 30% of his appearance fee! I see The Gastronomists plan and I like his thinking!
Gastelum looked horrible at the weighin. Can't see him doing too well now.
