Got to side with Bisping, both coming off losses but CB's was harder and as of this past weekend, was to a lesser opponent. I think Bisping is better than him anyway.
I'm a fan of both guys, but CB has always had very poor striking defense and in the past, it has made him look worse than he actually is. It's actually a shame because I do think he has a good amount of talent otherwise.
I could see Bisping getting a finish here. He will probably throw a high volume of strikes as usual, and CB will likely be unable to get out of the way for the most part. After he takes punishment for a while, I predict Bisping will turn it up and finish him off by getting the TKO win.
Pretty specific prediction, but I'm confident that Bisping will get his hand raised at the very least. I'd be almost surprised if this one goes the distance (if Bisping wins that is) considering how hittable CB is. Bisping may lack power, but his high volume strikes can take their toll if they keep landing consistently.
I've got CB with the upset here, I think Bisping is giving up his two best ways to win with this fight age and speed. I think styles make fights and if Bisping doesn't finish CB we will see what could be Bisping's last UFC fight.
Bisping has been on a win/loss train ever since beating Jason Miller in 2011. That statistic isn't going to change tonight. Taking Bisping by decision or even a late tko stoppage.
Cung Le - retired
Kennedy - retiring
Belcher - retired
Stann - retired one fight later
Sonnen - fought once more at MW for the title
Miller - retired one fight later
Rivera - retired two fights later
Akiyama - fought once more at MW and is now just a specialty act.
It's been five years since he's fought and beaten a guy(Dan Miller) who's career wasn't winding down
I hope nobody bets real money on Bisping because this is a dangerous fight for him.
Watching Bisping last night kind of made me sad and nostalgic, don't get me wrong there's still a few good and interesting fights for him but you can see him marginally slowing and for a fighter whose success has been based on movement and timing you know the end is near.
An absolute pioneer for the UFC and would deserve a spot on the Hall of Fame when the time comes.
I think cb has also improved a lot which is why bisping didnt look as good. Also I always feel bad for bisping; like six of his last seven losses were against roiders and trt junkies.
This, i don't think he is the best in the world but i think some of the matches would have gone his way if set fighters weren't cheating.
I respect his determination, but he is slowing down a bit and event if he hadn't, Luke and Chris are simply freaks of nature compared to the rest of the division. When you couple that with their amazing skills as well, i can't give him a snowball's chance in ever beating them.
Michael Bisping - the #1 P4P gatekeeper in the UFC.
Not dissing Bisping at all here, the guy is a legit awesome fighter and I have always liked him. Just speaking the truth. He will never break into the top 5 but will always be an exciting top 10 MW that makes most people who call him out look like shmucks.
I read an article that he still believes a title shot is a reality.
More power to him
As much as it pains me to say it, I think Bispings days of being able to potentially get a title shot are gone. I honestly gave him a decent chance of beating Silva, well, as much as anybody, but I just dont see him beating any of the top 5 guys at the minute.
Yeah, the days of Bisping being near the top 5 are done.
I sometimes wonder what a Bisping with an iron jaw or knock out power would have been like. If he had either one of those traits he'd have had his title shot, if he had both he'd probably have been champion.
Ah, what if's, eh?
Still you've got to impressed that a guy with no real genetic advantages was able to do so well for so long via sheer hard work in the gym... he's a great example for any young fighter to emulate.
I think if he gets one more good win he could make an argument for a title shot. Then when he loses that, he can call it a career. That's the best scenario I see for him.
