I say recent as in two years, and he lost to Sanchez, Riggs, and Sherk in that order. Then what he beat some virtual cans and Gomi, nevermind the fact Gomi was pounding him(I have yet to see the fight). I understand why ppl. love Gomi so much he is fun to watch-you already won the debate Damone

Yeah, Gomi was a LW champ. No doubt he's one of the best LW's out there. The fact that he can lose doesn't change that. Aoki's still my favourite LW though :P

It seems like all I hear when Gomi is mentioned is "Nick Diaz," what about the sucker-punching, disrespectful pot head?
Since when did someone who lose to Parisyan, Sanchez and Riggs become entirely better than Gomi?
Don't get me wrong all the Nick Diaz's nuthugging, street, pothead MMA fans. Nick Diaz is "good" but if Gomi have not taken Diaz lightly and trained, we all know Gomi would beat Diaz 4/5 times they would meet in a MMA match.
Clearly, if you mention Nick Diaz's name every time Gomi is bought up, you have not seen all of Gomi's fights.
If Gomi came to the UFC, imagine all the great matches that could happen. But now we will have despair in the empty promise of what is the Fertita Brother's dream of UFC vs. Pride and the best MMA match ups in the world.

I hate to tell all of you but the guy's in K-1 are more fun match ups with Gomi. there are guys like Marcelo Garcia and Vitor Riberio who have amazing ground games and they have all sorts of guys with stand up games who will be more than willing to stand and bang with Gomi like Andre "dida" Amade and JZ Calvanaciti.
While the UFC names are known better the match ups in K-1 are more intruging since UFC LW for the most part can never finish a fight.

He IS the lightweight champ...not was. Which is why I am so confused as to why he would ditch his belt and breech contract with Zuffa.
