Gracie spends 90% of his matches on his back and that is where he wins alot of his fights so I don;t think it matters where he fights, the UFC or Pride. I don't think his performance in the first fight warrants another fight. The only way I would want to see this fight again would be be under this one condition:
1. Gracie has to grow out his hair so Hughes can pull chunks of it out before he bashes his face in.

IMO I feel that the Gracie family would like to have the victory under their belt. However on one of their sites they had a great little spin on the first match. Saying that Hughes attempts ate armbars and other submissions were all because of what Royce did in the first of the UFCs. So they feel like its a win,lose,win for them..... They still have the name Gracie and people will always need BJJ in MMA so it wont hurt them any to fight and loose again. If Royce fights again, he will think he is ready, like last time. But I still fear the same outcome. The Guard is only a deffencive poss. Shamrock knew that and exposed its weakness when they fought. Hughes is too strong for any Gracie. No disrespect to them though.

In pride though hughes can't pin him up against the fence. Although it's not like he has to. But i agree he has a better shot in pride then the UFC. But i just don't see why they'd fight again. Makes no sense.

Gracie could wear his Gi in the pride ring and like Moldy said, Matt can't use the cage to pin him against. In Japan the gracies wouldn't have to worrie about all those Hughes nut huggers screaming and shouting everywere, plus its more traditional and has a better feel while watching.

Bah, Pride or UFC, Hughes would own Gracie. Hughes had Gracie beat in all phases of the game, not just ground and pound. In submission, Hughes could have broken Gracie's arm if he wanted to when he had him in that hold. To his credit, Hughes didn't want to do that to a fellow fighter. Gracie's a really proud fighter as the dude is willing to have his arm broken or get put to sleep rather than tap. And I've seen the latter happen.

Gracie is part of the reason UFC is what it is today so I believe he has a right to get paid, but please Dana stop dusting off these former legends to have them fight the top guys of today. It's just an embarrassment to see Gracie and Shamrock, two HOF'ers, get their asses whooped so bad.
