I agree that going to King's was a very smart move. I wish more of the Brazilians would do the same.

Nova is a good camp, but I feel like they have fallen behind.

With ANdre giving it up would be nice to see Aldo and Barao train a bit over at King's.

Both these guys are top 10ish but irrelevant. (shows how shallow mma is).

But this is a fight I have been calling for years. UFC's match making has been poor. But at least it is finally happening. I hope both put up a good fight. The first fight was so damn good.

rooting for Shogun & been waiting many yrs for the rematch as well, but got a bad feeling about this one, hope I'm proven wrong. The fact that Rua's coming off 2 brutal TKO losses doesn't help.

Inclined to think Lil' Nog has received less damage during his career [Shogun was dismantled by Jones and took an H-bomb on the nose; Gus & OSP hit him pretty hard too], though Nogueira also got KO'd in his last fight.

Hopefully the reunion with Cordeiro really does revive Rua considerably and it's not just the usual "in the best shape of my life / best training camp I've ever had" fight hyping talk :thumb02:

Been wanting this rematch for so many years, and even though I'm still excited for it they are both so far past their prime it takes a lot away for me. Love both guys but edging towards Rua for a win.

The dude in my small town in Ireland makes a killing off of his gym.

I'm pretty sure two of the most respected Brazilian Jiu Jitsu practitioners of all time, in a major city in a country known for it's mixed martial arts...makes more than "little to no money".

Most of these places aren't just "fight camps". They are gyms first and foremost. Gyms are always solid earners if you have the right equipment.

Clyde I'm not sure what any of that was about, I could barely make any sense of it outside of you wanting to annoy Sportsman, I gave you both a warning already, so Clyde please consider this your final one.

Its so hard for me to watch Shogun get rocked so easy :( How much punishment he need to take before he hangs them. UFC give him his retirement money!

Warrior as always, but its painfull.

Shogun is on a mission, after the fight he didn't talk about going back to Brazil to chill with the family and eat paella, he said he wants Rampage next anywhere, any time.

A lot of pressure was on him in this fight, and I think that was the best he's fought in years. Could have done without getting wobbled so bad in the first but to be fair he recovered 100%. The Nogs have serious poker faces, those body kicks were heavy. And he ate some huge punches when trying to finish Shogun too, which is how Hendo got floored in the second fight.

Now he's got a win behind him, if Shogun heals up, goes straight back to training at King's and gets a fight booked, he can come out looking even better again. Manuwa would be ideal but he's booked, Evans is out. Rampage is next by the look of it.

Not sure what to suggest with Nog, he's still got great hands with power, solid chin and great grappling defense, Shogun just has a way of putting people on the back foot. Cavalcante or Maldonado makes sense.

To be fair there Nog rocked him early on their Pride fight as well and then Shogun took him to town.

Those body kicks were amazing, I had no idea how Nog just shrugged them off.

Shogun is definitely at his best when hes mixing up his strikes, landing heavy kicks, and not just head hunting winging punches.

thought it was cool that the crowd supported Ronda so much, but it was f*cked up how they boo'd Shogun when they announced his win & also during the post-fight interview.

The shot that rocked Shogun to me looked like it was to the top of the head [similar to Belfort vs Franklin], it'd probably rock most, imo.
good recovery but I doubt it would've happened against a younger, faster opponent.

Glad he got the win - Rampage should be a perfect next opponent at this point in his career

That booing bugged me a little bit, but the explanation is simple: The rivalry between Jiu Jitsu and Chute-Boxe is intense in Brazil. So Shogun was being booed by the Team Nogueira (former Brazilian Top Team) supporters who are based in Rio and outnumbered Chute-Boxe supporters by a large margin.

It's like seeing a Brazilian soccer team star getting booed in a national game. All Brazilians will support him at the World Cup, no doubt, but not when he is sacking goals in your team in Brazil.
