The Future of Stephen Bonnar?
Now that Stephan Bonnar lost to a unimous decision to Forrest Griffin, will he fight again and try to get on the right track or will UFC lose interest in him after his contract is up?

this is why ufc needs rankings. have new guys statistically on the way up take on older on the way down guys. The matchups could be obvious and would create a better system.
Plus, the UFC should have fight cards that routinely introduce newer fighters. It shouldn't always be a championship match as its anchor. The UFC should try to get 1 or 2 times bigger so that the fight community is broader and better.

he'll get one maybe two more chances to redeem himself in the LHW devision, realistically thou the UFC will keep him around b/c of his marketability, he's only going to further progress in into a TUF CAN who who fights new TUF guys and will probably get his ass kicked by them, he'll probably be fighting mike nickles or ross pointon soon

Well he's got a 6-figure contract right? Before I go on, I must say that I'm not sure if 6-figure means 1,000,000 or 100,000. But if it means 1,000,000 or 6 zeroes, then he probably has a few fights left in his contract right? How much you think he's got so far? Maybe $250,000? $400,000? I'm not sure but it can't be no $1mil yet can it?

Stephan will be around for a while yet. 6 fgure contracts in the UFC mean $100,000 as a minimum.
Ppl calling or insinuating the end of a fighter after 2 losses is crazy. Stephan is a very good fighter and just needs an ounce of luck and possibly a new camp to train with. he will be back in a couple of months.

Bonnar is a GOOD fighter, he does need more skills but even so he put up a reasonable display against Griffin, he fights well mostly, put him in against someone like Bisping and we will get another good standup.

He's a medicore fighter. The guy has alot of heart don't get me wrong, but his take down defense, ground game is terrible, all he has is a solid standup.
But ya, if he doesn't win in the next fight or two he's going to be in the hot seat for sure. They'll probably place him up against Josh Haynes is my best guess. Haynes is just a stand up fighter like him but much slower and imo worse cardio. But it'd be a good fight.
I don't think he'll get the boot because of 2 loses or even 3. Look at Nick Diaz, he had a bad run of luck with his fights against Riggs, Diego, Sherk and he's still in the ufc, last i saw he just beat Near.

I think he'd actually have to LOOSE weight to drop down in weight lol.
I don't understand how those guys can actually fight with that much fat on them. I met josh barnett 4 years ago at AMC Pankration and man, he reminds me of haynes now (weight wise).
