Franklin is not the best 185 in the world. His job is to fight, no excuses and in the anderson fight he got utterly demolished. Yes I think the way the 2nd fight will pan out will be different. No i don't think it will end up in a different result.

Hardcore fans like myself who not only watch fights, but train as well. That's who would regard Quarry as a top 10 fighter. I think your the one that is trolling, hurling insults at me for having an oppinion.

Same happened with Chuck after his fight with Rampage and nobody hates as much as me but I respect him and the stuff people were saying was stupid.

Rich would have lost to Okami if Yushin hadnt sat back and pissed two rounds away. Rich is a talented fighter who lucked into being champ when the division was weak as shit. Personally I dont think Franklin breaks the top 5 of the best MW in the world. Nothing against him to because I do like the guy but he was pretty much right place right time when he was champ and I dont think hell ever hold the belt again.

I agree that people seem to forget how good Rich Franklin is. But I think it is also true that people don't understand how good Anderson Silva is.

Oh I'm well aware of what you mean. I agreed with the thread title and that's about as far as I read once I saw Nate Quarry as "top ten".

Couldn't agree more. Although I do believe Rich is good and people have forgotten it, like the thread title says, this is as trolly as a post can get. You don't talk about "great competition" someone has faced and mention Edwin Dewees or whatever his name is. Combine the antagonistic nonsense with the low post number and TADA! You have a second rate troll post meant to get alot of responses saying "Rich Franklin sux he hasn't faced good competition...blah..blah" Good call bbjd7.

Franklin is someone who I like, but can't say he's a great fighter. He's just merely good, and there's really nothing wrong with it.

I thought he looked completely ineffective in the Okami fight, but Okami pretty much makes everyone look ineffective.

The Tanner wins were good. He brutally beat a mentally broken David Loiseau, but that's not really Rich Franklin's fault.

He's just good in everything, not really great in anything. He has some good wrestling, his ground game is solid, and his striking is good when he's facing mid-level guys. I still think someone like Marquardt would defeat him, and if he & Okami faced again, then I'd pick Okami (I even did so in their first fight). He's just a solid addition in a weak division.

I think Marquardt v. Franklin has excellent written all over it with the winner being declared "Deputy Champ" until Silva retires.
I picked Franklin over Okami the first time and won a lil casheesh and I would pick Franklin again. That match was about who was gonna control who, no one was going to get knocked out or submitted in that fight and I believe a rematch would go the same way. Okami is a beast, just ask Swick, and Franklin overpowered him in a very clear cut victory.
I also really respect Rich for the way he has come back after the awful beating from Silva. He has handled JMac and beat Okami squarely and when he and Silva were in the Octagon and the fans booed Silva and Rich took up for him like he did, I thought that was awesome. I am not the biggest Franklin fight fan in the world but I have a lot of respect for the man. (But I am cheerin Silva all the way in the rematch*)

*See MMAFORUM Ultimate Fantasy League 2, I got first pick in the draft and I haven't been disappointed....cept for Travis Lutter not making weight and taking my Championship Match points away
