Yeah, can there be a second title in the MW division? Please?

Okami just needs to realize that he needs to freakin' fight in the first 2 rounds. It cost him the fight, and it was his fault. Franklin fought smart, and weathered Okami's nice showing in the third.

Franklin's a classy guy; probably the classiest guy in MMA, and genuinely nice. He doesn't come off as over-the-top or insincere.

WTF is trolling anyway??
trolling is when someone posts something just to get a lot of negative responses if you want to see prime examples of it go over to Shitdog and read about 3 threads.

Franklin has mostly beaten cans. Outside of him and Silva no one in that division is a top level fighter. Dan Henderson will kick Franklin's ass when he moves back down.

The funny this is this guy is sort of right. Not about how good Franklin is, but how people always bandwagon with this guy. Rich Franklin was considered by almost all MMA Fans(except for the few that would question his wins, and notice that he hasn't beaten any real stiff competition) as the number one middleweight. I remember some people would have him in the Top 5 P4P. He was considered invincible. And now of course nobody will admit it or the posters are just newer fans trying to act like they know everything but this was the truth. I too did believe in his hype quite a bit, but never to the level of some people. However, all of this ended once he lost to Anderson, and then it was the complete opposite. He was regarded as trash. He is slowly working his way back up, and I feel the position he is at right is a little more realistic then either of the other two positions people had him at.

Damn, that could be like a Sports Illustrated quote. Well said, very clear. Sorry, I have had to read f*cking law cases all day that get judged by how clear they make the point.

Pretty much, yeah.

Franklin is about at the level he should be at: Solid fighter, can be a contender, but will never be the guy that some make him out to be.

Franklin really is an excellent fighter- strong, well rounded, in good condition. It's not his fault that in the period he was coming up he wasn't exposed to the top tier of competition.

That first fight with Anderson Silva was, I think, mainly one of those fights where the guy's head is in the wrong place and when the fight goes in an unexpected direction, instead of adapting he just freezes up. It happens quite often. I would expected Silva to win the rematch, but I would expect it to be more competitive.

It will be interesting to see how much Franklin improves fighting against better competition. And I agree- I want to see Rich versus Nate, too.

who's the troll here?!? dude is at the VERY least, making valid points & backing them up w/ decent evidence. what are you bringing to this convo, besides name calling?!? not much, as far as i can tell.

i can't wait for spider vs ace, it's gonna be an awesome fight, regardless of who wins.

i think IP Freely is onto something. 1. it's not his fault that the competition he had wasn't the absolute best. it's not like you're gonna fight a nog every time out. 2ndly, out of 20 plus fights, of course you're gonna fight cans. all good/great fighters have fought their fair share of cans, it's inevitable. it doesn't negate the fact that ace is a good fighter, period.

Favorite Fighters:

Fedor Emelianenko
Mauricio 'Shogun' Rua
Anotonio Rodrigo Nogueira
Dan Henderson
Andrei Arlovski
Wanderlei Silva
Luke Cummo

No buddy saying that Nate Quarry is a Top 10 P4P fighter and that Jorge Rivera has some of the best stand up in MMA is either trolling or retarted. I like Rich and think he will push Anderson but saying that Rich is the best 185'er before he beats Anderson is just incorrect he got completly tooled i still think he's a great fighter but you can't put him in front of Anderson right now. Plus Rich's record as I stated in later posts isn't very impressive while Anderson has many more impressive victories.

Good points. Franklin does have a good gas tank, and pounded on Loiseau with a broken hand.

Don't know about Franklin vs Silva 2. I think it'll be sort of the same, with Silva finishing Franklin off in either the 2nd or 3rd round. I just can't see Franklin beating the guy. Who knows, though. The beating that Silva laid on him was brutal. Absolutely brutal. I like Rich, so I wouldn't really mind if he won.

In bbjd's defense, there have been trolls who make, what look to be solid threads, but end up saying incredibly asinine things.
