Action-movie superstars expressed their support for fired UFC cutman Jacob "Stitch"

You can cut the cut man, but ya can't keep em down. Good to see him getting his props. He brought a professional calm when I saw him at work. I knew that every time someone had a gash that "Stitch" would fix em up and the fight would most likely continue. A true pro at his craft.

Looking forward to seeing 'Creed.'

The firing of Jacob "Stitch" Duran whipped up feelings all around the MMA world. The iconic UFC cutman was let go by the organization after making some critical statements about the Reebok sponsorship deal. It's a decision that has backfired for both the UFC and Reebok, since the negative backlash was gigantic.

It seems that even in Hollywood people are expressing their support for 'Stitch', who plays a part in Silvester Stallone's new boxing movie "Creed". He met some of the industry's biggest names at the movie's official screening event, who spoke to him about the firing.

"You're talking about Arnold Schwarzenegger, he was sitting in front of us during the screening and he said, ‘You did a great job,'" Duran told MMAjunkie. "Wesley Snipes came up to me and it took me three seconds to realize who he is, right? And the first thing he says is, ‘The UFC did you wrong.'

"I said, ‘Yeah they did. It was their mistake and I'm doing fine.' But, you had Dolph Lundgren and my man Carl Weathers was there. They all came up and acknowledged me."

Duran was released by the UFC in July, but was already back on national television in August, when he worked at WSOF 22. He is also regularly working at smaller events around the world and seems to be doing fine without the UFC.

But that's not what (the frequently misunderstood) "freedom of speech" is about. It's about protection from government repression, not consequences from private companies you have to deal with after saying something. (Of course, also the government has workarounds, i.e. by claiming an endangerment of national security by certain speeches - so you can't just uncover war crimes or other illegal activities done by the US and make them public without the threat of facing capital punishment)

Saw 'Creed' tonight and it was very good. Stitch did a great job in it and by that I mean he acted like a cut man. He didn't have any lines or anything but it's pretty cool of Sly to look after him while making the movie seem more authentic by using him at the same time.
