Calling out the Iceman may be the stupidest thing that Vera ever does in his entire carreer. I'm a huge fan of Chuck and if Vera gets a match with Chuck, he'll get destroyed.

Vera has proven that he's a good striker, but he doesn't have the KO power to compete with Chuck and he doesn't have the takedowns to put the fight on the ground.

But wouldn't calling out the top guys be one of the better ways to get notoriety? It definitely gets your name mentioned.

I'm just waiting for the guy who starts calling out fighters in lower weight classes, or elderly folk after a match to show up. I can just imagine it now: "LARRY KING! YOU'VE BEEN TALKING SH*T WHEN I'M NOT LOOKING! YOU DUCKIN' ME LARRY KING!"

Keep in mind, Vera is fighting as a heavyweight now, and Chuck is the Lightheavyweight champion.

On the other hand, I think that he went after Chuck because Chuck is "undisputed" where as Sylvia isn't, because he might drop his title for arlovski.

Either way, it's great for getting your name out there, but if Vera gets a title shot before he's ready he'll get crushed. There are plenty of guys that he could fight to build his credibility before he starts to worry about Chuck.

If I were Vera I would have gone after one of the guys that Chuck beat a year or two ago, like White or Tito or even Jeremy Horn. I think going straight for the champ is going to get him an early title shot and there's no way in hell that he'll be able to stand up with Chuck and there's even less of a chance that he'll be able to take Chuck down.

well he needs to prove he can beat mir or silvia and definetly arlovski before he runs his mouth and runs down to the light heavyweight

What? He is a heavyweight, he won't switch down to light heavyweight division if he beats Sylvia and Arlovski. And if he beats them he will be heavyweight champ. And believe me right now Vera should have 15 wins to at least have a shot at the title. Right now he only has 7. And Vera also could not beat Arlovski or Sylvia. If he gets into the ring with Arlovski he is done in a minute due to his lack of experience. With Sylvia well two rounds maybe and then hes knocked out. He needs experience by getting more wins. I would like to see him fight Frank Mir. That would prove him to have a shot against Sylvia or Arlovski.
