I remember when my buddy, who is a casual MMA fan, saw Nate fight on the TUF 1 Finale I was watching on DVD. He watched Nate fight and goes, "Man, I really like the way this guy fights. He's real calculating with his punches." This stuck out in my mind because while I don't particulary love or hate Quarry's style, it drew a reaction from my buddy who is generally indifferent to the fighters. Anytime a fighter can draw the attention of a casual fan and really make suck them into a fight, I like 'em. It's fighters like that, whether they're great or not, who bring in the hardcore fans and help the sport.
For me, it was a BJ Penn rerun, where I was just channel surfing and came across it on Spike. I remember being really intrigued by all the grappling and such, and that seed spawned a huge fan. Quarry did that with my friend, so I'm sure on some level others would enjoy watching him fight too.
