Nate Quarry vs. Pete Sell promoted to main card!

Quote:
A fight between former middleweight contender Nate Quarry (8-2 MMA, 3-1 UFC) and UFC veteran Pete Sell (7-3 MMA, 1-3 UFC) has been promoted from the UFC Fight Night 11 undercard and will now be on the televised portion of the Spike TV event.

UFCjunkie.com (UFC news, MMA news, UFC rumors, UFC gossip, fighter interviews and event previews and recaps - UFCjunkie.com) today learned of the news from Spike TV spokesperson David Schwarz.

This morning, UFCjunkie.com confirmed that Mike Swick had been scratched from his UFC Fight Night 11 bout with Jonathan Goulet and that Dustin Hazelett will fill in as his replacement. The Swick-Goulet fight was supposed to be televised during the Sept. 19 event.

However, according to Schwarz, once Swick pulled out of the fight, Spike TV and UFC officials mutually agreed to air the Quarry-Sell fight instead.

The fight is actually a rematch from the first UFC Fight Night, where Quarry scored a quick, 42-second TKO of Sell.

Quarry, a standout from “The Ultimate Fighter 1,” was eventually forced out of competition on the show because of an ankle injury. He’s been recovering from back surgery and eyeing a comeback to the UFC, where after three dominating victories, he eventually lost to then-champ Rich Franklin at UFC 56.

Sell, who appeared on a “comeback” fourth season of “The Ultimate Fighter,” has three losses in the UFC — to Quarry, Scott Smith and Thales Leites — but is best remembered for his UFC 51 submission victory over Phil Baroni.

The news is unfortunate for Hazelett, who despite three fights in the UFC, has never appeared on an official broadcast. The Team Jorge Gurgel fighter and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu brown belt owns a career 9-3 record, including a 2-1 mark in the UFC.
Happy to hear about this....Quarry Vs Sell = guarenteed KO.

Why the hell are they matching up Quarry and Sell again, Sell gets beat by mediocre competition and has been TKO'd quickly by Quarry before. There clearly feeding Sell to quarry to try and hype him up again. Sell has become a gatekeeping can for the UFC.

I think Sell could surprise some people.

Everybody good, plenty of slaves for my robot colony?

Pete Sell has lost his last 3 fights but it will be worth it if we get another crazy ending like Sell/Smith.

I like that change. That was the undercard match I was most interested in, so it's all gravy I guess. I'd still rather see Swick, but whatever.

Nice see Quarry coming back after that devasting KO from Franklin and Sell is a gamer so it should be somewhat interesting...

You can't have everything. Where would you put it?

As much as I would've enjoyed seeing Goulet lose (because let's face it, he's going to no matter who he faces), I'm much happier seeing Quarry and Sell on the main card. Sell always brings it, and I'm interested to see how Quarry looks in his first fight in quite a while.

I'm going with Quarry by KO, but Sell could sure put up a fight.
