Someone needs to write a well thought out rebuttal for this utter trash and smash it to pieces, then get it published on a popular blog or mma news site. This is rediculous. is offline

It's good for their credibility that they also want to ban boxing, if they want to ban MMA. But if they are going to quote John McCaine and pretend that the UFC still have the rules from 1993, they should just keep their mouths shut.

And joint injuries and fractures? Any physical activity can result in that, and I don't know about England, but over here health authorities are desperately trying to get kids to do some exercising because they are getting fatter all the time. Should we tell the children to stay in front of the TV, so that they won't risk injuries?

ban softball

I was playing third base when I saw the catcher get killed on the field playing softball at church camp in high school when someone ran into him going into home just the wrong way.

Shit happens, and it sucks, but banning a consensual physical contest between two healthy adults-ESPECIALLY world class athletes- should be the least of their worries.

This isn't new. The British Medical association has been anti boxing for a long while. It seems they've just grouped mma as similar to boxing. But its had no effect on boxing so I doubt it will have any impact on mma. This is just some random alarmist story only ran by the crappier papers (I checked).

I really don't ever remember anyone dying in a MMA match or seeing someone become crippled.

That "Human Cockfighting" reference is really getting old! It just shows these people have a lack of understanding when it comes to this sport. Repped to IronMan!

You forget that this isn't just some brutal sport where everyones out to kill each other. Its much more like a game of physical chess.-looney liam
