I've gone from hoping he will, to he must, or he's done.
With Pride standing, he would always be considered the top HW. No question there. But Pride is pretty much toast, I think we can all agree there. One day, they may get Pride up and going again, but it seems to be very low on the priority list.
So Fedor has to sign somewhere or nowhere. Call it quits now, fine, majority will consider you best ever HW, and I agree. Sign anywhere other than UFC, you are the Champion of no ones.
The UFC is growing, and like or not, it is where it's at.
The NHL, NFL, MLB are for the Pro's. Playing and/or competing anywhere else matters to no one. For example, say Wayne Gretzky, Muhammad Ali said no to the big leagues. They decide to hell with it, I'm going here/there, same money, but lower level of skill. Would there records mean anything today ?. I think not, they mean so much, because of the level of competition it took to aquire them.
Fedor says he quits today, fine, I'm the first to agree, his record stands. I'll never agrue it. He is the best HW ever.
But, if he signs somewhere other than UFC and fights no names, it's all downhill from there. He will only tarnish his own name, or take away credit from it.
As I see it, it's UFC or give it up.
I enjoyed both Pride and UFC, with Pride on the ropes, it's UFC or nothihng now really.
This Saturday night, I'm saying it's Fedor vs Randy announcment. If not, Fedor is finished. Really, it won't matter who he beats or where, UFC is it now. Take it or leave it.
Also, I do consider Fedor to be the best HW there is. I just feel he will not been seen that way if he continues somewhere other than UFC.
