Renato Babalu Sorbal Released from UFC?

Is this true? For "unsportsman like" conduct, for his choke out submission on Heath. He tapped and the choke was held for a few seconds after, which may have been a bit long but not uncommon. I knew they fined him 1/2 his winnings but this is ridiculous. He is one of my favorite fighters to watch in UFC and in general. This dude kicks some serious ass. I wonder if this is the same reason that that fight didn't air that night. Sorry if this is yesterday's news but I just heard the rumor that he was let go. I hope that this is not true, I always look forward to Sorbal's fights.

since your new ill let you know the info

sorbral was also let go because of his latest incident with the law....not to mention "substance abuse"....but then again wut isnt a substance abuse nowadays....so they guy likes to drink and fight lol....in anycase dana said he would more then welcome sorbral back when he had gotten his life in order....

for more info theres a thread on here probably on page 2 or 3 that will inform you of all the stuff i missed out on

The most solid advice I can give to anyone who fights BJ Penn is...do not motivate the guy. Lets face it, BJ although talented, is naturally lazy. Your job is to NOT convince him to step on that treadmill.

Well, this is quite old news. Been discussed here for a while now. But at the end of the day Dana White decided he was no longer welcome because of 3 things.

#1 was the choke.
#2 was his reason for not letting go (he said he was "teaching him a lesson" in an interview after the fight)
#3 a week before the fight, he was arrested for being in a bar fight.

The UFC and most MMA promotions are trying to get rid of the "bar fight" reputation that MMA has and can not tolerated people who fit that reputation.

i figured that this had been discussed on here for a bit but my search turned up nothing..oh well. I see their point that the are under the microscope with the gaming comission but still. Half of the cincinatti bengals have had major run ins with the law in the last year and I am willing to bet that for most of them it will make little difference. Bt like I said I see their point but it is still disturbing. And as far as what a fighter says in interviews, I would think that it should have little accountability seeing as they are trying to sell their next bout (sometimes) it keeps people watching.

thanks for brining me up to speed as well.

Well the problem here is that football is legal in all 50 states. MMA is not! They need to keep working on their reputation and fighters who says "I put him to sleep to teach him a lesson" are not helping. This is not the WWE!
