The Cliche Upset of 75 Thread

Who is going to be the upset of the evening of the televised fights? I have to say Hamill over Bisping. No, Hamill is not a great fighter and yes Bisping is a great striker but I am not writing off Hamill. From Bisping we have seen brutal wins over Christian (the cigar smoking fighter), Ross Pointon who appears to be a can over in Cage Rage as well, Josh Haynes...well he's riding bulls on a reality show on CMT now, Eric Schaffer...yep, and finally Elvis Sinos....whatever.

I would put Seth P. over all of these opponents and its one of the only fights we have seen from Hamill but he won it (all be it from cutting and lay-n-pray) But he won it. He also took so many shots that it sickened me which is what he can expect from Bisping.

People want to say Matt's untelevised fight against Rex Holomon was a display of sloppy striking....sloppy like Bisping getting caught with a vicious Elvis knee and almost getting KOed? Matt's striking looked pretty powerful to me.

Bottom line, I like Bisping and I am not a huge Hamill fan but this is the upset thread. I can see Matt Hamill taking this one. The media and fans and the hometown crowd have put the pressure on Bisping to win. Matt is the underdog...like he has always been his whole life. Who is more comfortable coming into this fight?

I pick Matt Hamill for upset of the night. You can debate this fight or choose another fight for upset of the night but please be detailed in your analysis.

Kongo was about 13lbs heavier and Mirko looks about as comfortable fighting in the UFC as I look when wearing a thong made of rattle snake fangs...so yeah that fight could be an upset but I still gotta think Mirko is going to pull a GSP and announce he is back in the spotlight.

If there is to be an upset, it's going to be Kongo.

I don't think it's going to happen, but it's the most likely of the unlikely outcomes.

Demian Maia may be the Fred Astaire of jiu-jitsu, but it’s too bad Silva is the Gene Kelly of kicking everyone’s ass.

How, exactly, is Drwal beating Silva considered an upset?

I have a semi-bad feeling about Kongo vs Mirko. I know Mirko has a good track record of demolishing fools after he loses in embarrassing fashion, but man, Kongo could catch him with something. Hopefully, Mirko whomps the guy. Mirko vs Nog 2 is much more interesting than Kongo vs Nog.

how is it not?

Drwal is an unknown polish fighter making his UFC debut while Thiago is overhyped to sh*t...
