Does anyone else think CroCop will work his GnP?

Does anyone else think that CroCop will do some ground and pound?
Of course Mirko will work his bread and butter kicks but Kongo’s ground game is so bad that it is too big an opportunity to pass up. Mirko's GnP is pretty good and when Kongo is on the ground it is pretty much free. There is no worry that Kongo is going to pull a submission.

I doubt that CroCop will shoot in from the outside with wrestling takedowns but I think part of his strategy my be to work him to the ground or at the very least do some GnP if Kongo goes to the ground.

If CroCop submitted him it would be crazy (highly unlikely)! I wish CroCop would go all Genki Sudo on him and choke him out with a flying triangle choke. That would be amazing!!

Any takers on CroCop doing some ground work?
You better watch it I was correct on GSP taking down KOS (link)
and I was probably the only person in the world worried that Serra was going to beat GSP (I wish I had proof). Although I think every other pick I have ever made was wrong.

If it went to the ground, which I highly doubt, it isn't unrealistic to think he might attempt a submission.

It certainly is possible, and it wouldn't be a bad desicion but I would be surprised if he does. Kongos ground game isn't that bad, when he fought Assuerio Silva he did enough not to get caught in anything or get pounded out. He also managed to get back up to his feet a fair few times. IMO Silva has better ground game than Crocop, so I doubt he would try take him down.
Crocop's bread and butter is his striking, and like Kongo, it is world class. I would be surprised if CC shoots for the take down, Kongos knees could knock him out on the way in. This fight should remain standing.

Dude, are you serious? CC's ground game is 100x better than Kongo's...

Did you read my post? Kongo defended well enough not to get beaten on the ground by Assuerio Silva. Assuerios ground game > Crocops ground game, so why should Crocop be dominant on the ground against Kongo?

I don't quite get the point of your post. Where did I say Kongo has a better ground game than CC?

Of course, not as much or as affective, but he knows the ground is hot lava for Kongo and so hes gonna try and take him down as much as possible. Even he cant do a whole lot of damage, itll still score points. Believe me, Mirko is anything but dumb, and isnt gonna risk a second defeat by trying to impress anyone.

But Im not saying there wont be a standup war.

It'd be amazing if these dudes spent the whole fight rolling. BJJ for dummies.

if mirko gets rocked or feels he's losing the standup battle, then i damn sure hope he goes for the takedown. mirko stated that he's been training all aspects of his game, including wrestling.

mirko should win this fight, but its not gonna be easy.

It's possible, we saw a glimpse of his ground game vs Wandy the second time.. and Wandy's far better on the ground than Kongo. Honestly, as good of a kickboxer as CroCop is, I don't see him finishing Kongo on his feet; the guy's style reminds of Ernesto Hoost, CroCop's kickboxing nemesis. I would say it's either a unanimous decision on the feet which could go either way (though CroCop is much more likely), or CroCop TKO via GnP.
