Liddell vs. Ortiz - Dec. 30th
I think this will probably be the biggest fight ever in UFC. The only thing I don't understand is that UFC.com states this fight will take place pending Ortiz beating Shamrock. What does that fight have to do with this one. Anyway, I heard that Shamrock is wearing a football helmet for the Oct. 10th fight so my money is on Shamrock.

This is not going to be the fight of the year! Ortiz doesn't stand a chance!

heres some advice for Dana.....dont announce any fights offical or unofficial until they are set 4 sure. Noone appreciates these BS decisions like wanderlai/liddell.....just gets ppls hopes up.
|
Just the reason I thought Ortiz was crazy for taking this fight with Shamrock. Now he has NOTHING to gain and everything to lose. He loses by chance to Shamrock and there goes his title shot he has wanted so bad.

even if by sum freak accident that would cause ortiz to loose to shamrock their still gonna have him fight liddell, think about it whats else could they have to end the year with or for their big superbowl show? their pretty much out of top fighters in the LHW. Unless Wanderlei shows up to fight which most likely ain't gonna happen. Dana and UFC are banking too much on Ortiz/Liddell 2 for it not to happen.

the new fight between chuck and tito will be a lot different i dont know why people think it will turn out the same tito has a much better chance at beating chuck now that its for the title because of the 5 rounds instead of 3... we all know tito has some of the best conditioning in mma and the 5 rounds gives him a clear advantage rather than the 3.. if hes able to stand a lil with chuck wear him out get it to the 3rd and 4th rounds he will have a much easier time... just pull off the same thing courture did the first time he faced chuck and it will be a great fight that i can see tito winning

For one, no rematch would EVER be the biggest fight in the UFC, especially a rematch where the fight before was completely dominated by one person. Tito hasent really done anything to earn this shot...so he pounded on Shamrock once again, big deal. Won a very controversial fight to an above average fighter, and is going to beat on poor old Shamrock again for the third time. I mean I whole heartly believe the LHW division in the UFC is the weakest with only a few dominant fighters, but they could have worked out something else. Ortiz has been, and will always be overmatched by Liddell...Titos main objective during fights is to get the takedown and utilize ground n pound...exactly what Chuck hopes for. I can see this fight ending in the first round by Chuck catching Tito with an uppercut after he sprawls a takedown. This will probably be a forgetable end of the year main event that will be remembered as the day Tito Ortiz was once again laid out by Chuck. I'm just sick of one sided rematches. Which is why UFC 64 is going to be the PPV of the year, and will have the fight of the year. |
Good point Alex. I guess I am just thinking of it from a money perspective (pay-per-view orders).
