depending on his showing against forrest, shogun should be in line for a shot but with the way the Pride guys are seeming to have trouble adjusting to the cage i don't know if shogun is gonna win. looking forward to see the fight.

So who else at 205 is on a winning streak and is up for title contention? I can only think of Machida, but I feel like I might be forgetting someone. Any thoughts?
dude

shogun is getting a title shot if he beats forrest

chuck and wandi has been talked about for what 3 or 4 years now....dont hold your breath....chuck as to beat jardine and come out without any injuries.....i wouldnt count on seeing a ufc lhw championship until 2008.....unless of course shogun comes out without injury and page is good to go.....which would really suck cuz its looks so far the only title fight set for dec is the ww title

I would have to go with Shogun if he gets by Forrest, which nowadays is anything but a given. In the next few months the contender picture should round into shape nicely.

the ufc has already stated that if the likely happens and shogun wins....he will fight page for the title

im not sure if forrest will get the same previlage if he wins....i guess it will all depend on how well his win is

I'd say Shogun is the first contender if he gets past Forrest. If Forrest wins, then he'll have to win one more and then I can see him getting a shot.

Liddell would have to beat Jardine and one more opponent, and then he can have his shot. Jardine is probably in the same boat as well, as beating Liddell would really elevate him in a lot of fan's eyes.

You could always justify giving Lyoto a title shot after beating Nakamura considering he is undefeated and I believe 3-0 in the UFC. That would boost him to 4-0, and at that point it becomes difficult to just shuffle him to the side, even if they don't like televising his fights.

And then of course is Wanderlei, who could definitely get a title shot if he wins his first fight in December. They have no problem giving a guy a single warm up and then throwing him in their for the belt (Heck, Henderson didn't even have to fight a warm up), so depending on his performance, he could definitely get a shot.

All the title fights are a little ways off, but there's still a ton of shuffling to do in the divisions so while we may not see any huge title fights soon, we're still going to get a lot of awesome events.

so now we will get to see shogun kick rampages ass again lol. i believe that shogun will be next in line for a title shot after his first fight in the ufc, the same happened with rampage. hopefully if shogun wins without any injuries shogun/rampage 2 will hopefully happen in dec.

Shit's lining up pretty nicely for Chuck. Shogun beats Forrest gets next title shot, destroys Rampage cuz Rampage can't handle the chute boxe clinch ever, Chuck beats Jardine then gets a losing streak Wandy who had no warmup fight, then title shot against a so-so striker. Thus Chuck avoids Rampage, and honestly with Shogun and Wandy in the picture Rampage probly wouldn't even be able to get another title shot for a while.
