Explain why Hamill is more than a decent fighter

This is not to trash Hamill I think he won last night. But seriously the guy didn't look as good as people are saying. He chased a guy around who was terrified of his power and threw sloppy punches which hardly landed. He left his self open a lot to get countered and a good striker would've put him down easy. He showed on TUF that he doesn't like to get hit. His wrestling is good but his ground game needs work. Right now he is a Good MMA wrestler with Good Power but nothing else IMO. He beat Bisping who is a fighter who does nothing well and everything decent.

Why is Matt Hamill going to be a top 10 LHW like everyone around here is saying? Keep in mind he is 30 older than the Champ Rampage, the uncrowned Champ Shogun, and only a year younger than the most dominant LHW in MMA history Wanderlei.

*Note BrownPimp I hope this is ok I understand if you close it I just didn't want to put this in your Bisping appericiation thread Since it is kind of negiative.

Hes decent but not great. He ran low on Gas after about 3 minutes into the first round. He won the fight, but he will never be an a-level fighter.

I think he improved a ton but I wasn't as impressed with his striking as joe rogan is apparently. He threw all of his punches, including some jabs way to wide and against a good striker like Shogun or specifically liddell he would of been knocked out quick.

I think he is improving incrediably fast, with that being said he had allot of improvement to do since we saw him last and still has allot to do. I think he has the ability to train hard and learn quick which I think if he continues to do will make him into a decent fighter.

I think you are mistaking the hamill bisping threads for praise saying hamill is a awesome fighter when in reality people are just mad of the outcome. dont get me wrong though we have some members that started crawling up hamills legs to grab on to those craved hairs but for the most part people are just mad at the outcome.

Bisping wasn't backing up because he was terrified of Matt's striking power, he was terrified because he knew Matt could take him down at will. UFCJUNKIE has the best summation of the whole fight and I am not affiliated with them nor do I endorse people for free but it was summed up best there, that Matt decided not to out point him with take downs and kept letting Bisping stand up. If Matt Hamill wanted to, he could have Jake OBrien/Herring'd him and I don't mean that as a diss because that was a clear victory for people like me who like to watch strikers flail on their back. Nobody is saying Matt Hamill is the best fighter in the world, lets criticize him on a level where he is at 3-1. He looks pretty good for a fighter with 4 professional fights.
