Alright hang overs gone now lets see what everyone else thinks. Does anyone think that Rampage vs. Henderson was fight of the year? We will see what others say.

its definitly up there for me! one of my favourite fights of all time. so much back and forth, they were so evenly matched it was just awesome to see. if you dont know much about mma and just wanna see a slug fest then i can see how you wouldnt enjoy watching it, but they went back and forth on every aspect of mma. jackson even outwrestled hendo at times, it was also great to see jackson trying to use the mui tai clinch to throw some knees! i just dont see how you couldnt enjoy it, 2 of the best fighters in that division went to war and gave everything they had. a "fight of the year/month/day" isnt a quick knockout, that would be ko of the year/month/day. a good fight is a close matchup, back and forth, which jackson/hendo definitly was!

I know plenty about mma. I also never said I didn't enjoy it or didn't like it. It was a good fight, and defenitly two of the best fighters in that division. I just don't think it is in contention of fight of the year. I enjoyed it and enjoy almost all mma fights. I prefer fights that go the distance. I just think there are many other fights that have been all out wars, non stop action from start to finish. When they were over you couldn't take the smile off your face. Thats what I call FOTY myself. Example (Tyson Griffin vs. Frank Edgar)

Totally agree kinda like the griffen/guida fight. THat was foolish!!! Really tho Hendo/Page was good fight but not F.O.T.Y come on. J-Grif is right on this one. Now the Tavares/Griffen fight is going ot amazing and the Rua/Griffen too wow! All out wars!!

I dont think Hendo vs Rampage will be FOTY.

Any other year it would do but with Liddell vs Wandy, Shogun vs Griffin and Sanchez vs Fitch! Thats pretty hard to beat.

Hendo vs Rampage was an excellent fight though, technically it was fascinating as they are so evenly matched everywhere and there fantastic fighters.

Also the fact that Rampage collapsed at the end put an ! on the fight. A fantastic fight but for me FOTY has to be more fast paced, lots of near finishes, people getting rocked, loads of transitions and a screaming crowd wouldnt hurt either.

DO u mean when Hendo went down at the end and Page rained down punches for the last few seconds? or do mean something else?

I gotta go with the Griffin vs Rua fight as potentially the most exiting. The lightheavy wieght division just brings big power combined with quickness. 205lbs ripped is a big man and they still bring quick strikes and the high level technical ground skills. Griffin, I suspect, will get his butt whooped but becasue he's so tough the match will probably go a couple of rounds. For me the best night of MMA in the UFC for a long time was UFC 74! What a great night of fights!

Well September isn't over yet, and still another UFC event and the IFL championships are still to be held. If I had to chose a fight right now for 'fight of the month' for September, it would be Davis vs Taylor like Aaronyman said. Rampage vs Dan was good but could have been better.

Everyone is picking Rua/Griffin even thought the fight hasn't happened?
