The heavyweight rankings just got a much needed shake with the defeat of Mirko Cro Cop at the hands, and I guess feet of Cheik Kongo. The way MMA Weekly has it right now, Mirko is number three. Remember they haven't been updated yet.

Well, he did get his head kicked off by the number 6 ranked, and still managed to hold on to his number three position, but now, with a loss to someone not even in the top 10, maybe not even top 20 on some people's books, where does Mirko line up? I think it is safe to say he will still be in the top ten. His past wins cannot be denied. But where does he fall?

Personally, I think he will, and should fall in at number 5.

Dont know if Kongo is really top 10 worthy, maybe 11 or 13 iunno. Mirko still needs to be top 5. Its only 2 losses after winning the OPGP. Against some mean competition

Thing is crocop has been beaten by 3 top 10 fighters (fedor, Nog and GG) 4 if you include Kongo in the top 10.

He has lost his last 2 fights against guys that are below him in the ratings. I think Mirko has to drop to around #8 and Randy needs to go in at number 3.

You see, this is where the heavyweights get confusing. Barnett was tooled twice recently by Mirko. And why is Gabe so low? Man, we all have different things we consider when ranking so it is so hard to judge it.

Personally, I look at recent wins, the rank of the people they have beat and lost to and the way of winning/losing. I don't just guy by who is P4P best or anything like that.

cro cop goes to 6th, kongo shouldnt eb in the top 10 just for that. but im never betting on cro cop after that.

I really debated putting Kongo in at number ten. Personally I had him at like 18-19 before he beat Mirko, but now I guess he cannot be denied(4-1 in the UFC, only loss by Split decision). I have 10 at a tie between Aleks/Kongo/Hunt.
