Cro Cop

I wonder how he would do at LHW. Maybe the fighter's are just to big for him. He doen't look as big as them at all. But he did do ok against nog and he beat barnett. Who knows. Every loss he has had has been to bigger fighter's. Kinda like the curse Randy used to have. Key word there was "used" to. Maybe if he dropped down he woudln't get beat in range. And maybe he could do better. Who knows maybe it won't mean a thing. Maybe he needs a dork like brad imes or something to get his confidence back. maybe weight and height and striking and reach mean nothing compared to his psycological battle. Its hard to come back from a KO that was that bad. Ask rampage he took a year or more off. when he left on his religious thing.

His problem isn't physical in my opinion, its his attitude or mindset. He fights like he doesn't want to be there...

I didn't see UFC 75 but I thought he was "fully preparing" for the fight.. Did he come in like he did at UFC 70?

He came in looking a little flat. Like he was thinking "Ok, guess ill fight since I am here" attitude. But then again Cro Cop looks like that in almost all of his fights. I just think mentally hes not there anymore. I almost think he came in expecting an immediate title shot and when he didnt get it he was disgusted or offended since he just won the Grand Prix, maybe he just isnt uninterested in having to climb the ladder again.

That really depends on who you talk to. Some guys will say he looked like he didn't want to be there, maybe he was depressed-he did wear a black armband to the octagon for some reason. He did train for the cage and worked with guys that have beat Kongo, however, he did suffere a broken rib in the first round and the going theory for some is that caused him to be more tenative. That along with the crotch shots he suffered probably had an effect on his stamina and performance. Kongo clinched him a lot and put him up against the cage. Right now I think we are waiting to see if he retires or who is next fight will be against before passing final judgement.

As I said there are a lot of facotrs/variables with the match and his performance.

He was tentative comming into the fight after his loss to Gonzaga, broke a rib early on which sidelined him. Got kicked in the nads. bad day for him. Simple as that.

13 firemen died in croatia few days prior to the event, national park was burning and they lost their lives while on duty, that's why he was wearing a black armband, to show respect

It was a bad matchup for a tentative Mirko.

He couldn't get in range for the kicks without being hit first (scary thought after Gonza residue) and he couldn't get in on the inside to let his hands go because as soon as he did Kongo would get him in that frusturating clinch where Mirko didn't utilize any knees or elbows and just absorbed the beating.

I think Mirko's gameplan was to go in their and chop Cheik down, but Kongo proved to have the same plan, longer reach, and the ability to setup faster. In between that, it was all clinch nation. No excuses from me though, Kongo looked great in that fight.

I was pretty tapped off of Morgan's during this fight, did you guys notice a couple of times where Mirko could've setup a triangle a couple of times when Kongo was on top, or am I getting this confused Matt/Bisping?

Oh and LHW thing would be great for him but I don't know if he ever would, I don't have any quotes or anything but I know he's said before he couldn't, and wouldn't drop down. I bet it's some sort of mindset that he has that being the HW best in the world, is the only best in the world (especially after the OW GP).
