He's an intelligent, country-serving man and I don;t see why he would go out and get himself hurt bad, like he has in the last two fights at this stage in his career.

You live in LV? Have you been to any fights? What's it like?
I've never been to an event because tickets are incredibly hard to get. I tried to get tickets to UFC 72 and all of the $100 tickets were sold out 15 minutes after opening to the public.

I have some friends that have been to several of them though. They say that while the atmosphere is incredibly more intense, you get a far better view of the fights on PPV. In fact, they told me that unless you have $500 tickets, you end up watching the fight on the Jumbotron anyways. Also, the beer is supposedly $9 each. That would take me $90 to make it worth my time, especially considering the event is a lot longer in person due to them showing all of the undercards.

Im so sick and tired of all the ignorants and cro cop haters on this forum. I'm gonna make a statement and I'm not gonna repeat it anymore. CRO COP GAVE A GOOD PERFORMANCE IN THE FIRST ROUND. HE DOMINATED KONGO, HE WAS AGRESSIVE. THE THING THAT MADE HIM RETREAT IN THE LAST 2 ROUNDS IS NOT HIS MENTAL STATE, IS NOT HIS TIMIDNESS, IS NOT HIS SHAPE, IS NOT HIS CARDIO, IT'S THE BROKEN RIB!!! YOU CANNOT WIN THE FIGHT WITH THE BROKEN RIB! ASK RAMPAGE, ASK B.J PENN, ASK ALL THE FIGHTERS. I'M NOT, I REPEAT, I'M NOT DISSIN KONGO!! HE SHOWED US HOW MUCH A FIGHTER CAN IMPROVE IN THE GROUND GAME WITHIN TWO FIGHTS. HE HAS A GREAT FUTURE IN UFC. BUT I'M SAYING, HE DID NOT DOMINATE THE LAST TWO ROUNDS BECAUSE HE IS A BETTER FIGHTER, BUT BECAUSE HE BROKE CRO COP'S RIBS AND COS HE HAS HIT HIM SEVERAL TIMES IN THE NUTS! I COULD HAVE DEFEATED CRO COP IN THAT STATE! SO IF U WANNA TALK ABOUT CRO COP'S BAD PERFORMANCE, STICK TO HIS FIGHT WITH GONZAGA. One other thing, losing 2 fights in a row doesn't end your career. It happened to randy, it happened to henderson, it happened to hughes, and they are the best in their weight classes. So stop dissin cro cop for going the distance with the things he went thru in the fight!

Totally agree with you. The guy has signed a contract and wants to honour his commitment but imo he really doesn't want to fight anymore. I said exactly this after the Gonzaga fight, you can trace my posts if you don't believe me. He was totally disinterested in both of these last two fights. He's going to honour his contract and walk. I guarantee it.

Edit: Found it. Here's what I said after the Gonzaga fight in Jan '07.

As for Cro cop, I really think he's tired of fighting. He sure sounds like he is. He's king in Croatia, member of Parliament, special forces stud. He may be anxious to get back to that stuff.

the reason CroCop is getting hammered is because of posters like you. you hug his nuts so tight you just brush off anyone's opinion that isn't what you think. all we've heard since he signed is how he's going to dominate and kill everyone in his path till Fedor signs. and when it didn't go down like that, you still can't admit you were wrong and give credit where it's due. you make excuses. he wasn't himself, the cage affected him, he didn't train, he didn't take GG or Kongo seriously, his ribs were broke(like it happened by accident)......, this list goes on. he had a good career in Pride but this ain't Pride. dominating in Japan means absolutely nothing here in the UFC. different atmophere, different rules, and different fighters = different outcomes. just my opinion tho.

Just one question: Did cro cop fight well until Kongo broke his rib?

What the hell are you talking about? I am a CroCop fan, but don't take any credit away from any of the fighters who've beaten him. It is my job as a fan of CroCop to figure out why he lost the fights. If I say he didn't train in a cage, or for elbow, or he lost because of a broken rib, I'm not saying that he should have won the fight. I'm not even saying that the other fighters didn't deserve to win. I'm simply stating the events that led up to his loss.

When other people post that Wandy lost to Hendo because he was fighting too much and had just come off of a loss from CC, are they nuthugging and finding excuses? Of course not. They are just stating their opinion about their preferred fighter.

If CroCop loses to a guy in the cage because he didn't train in one, and didn't train for elbows(which severely hindered his abilities) and I point it out, am I making up excuses or pointing out reasons?

All I've been saying since the loss to Kongo is that he looked great up until the rib break. Of course, he should have blocked the kick that caused the break. But he didn't. All I can tell is that he looked good until then, looked crappy afterwards, and lost the fight. That tells me that he lost the fight because of the broken rib and not because he came into the fight unprepared and unwilling to fight as everyone keeps saying. Excuses take away accountability, reasons explain why they are accountable.

What's pissing me off is that every time I say this, which has nothing to do with the skills of Gonzaga or Kongo, people keep calling me a nuthugger who won't admit that my guy lost or that I keep making excuses for why he should have won. This is total crap. I'm simply talking about an MMA fighter, in an MMA forum, about how his MMA fight went and what led up to his loss.

Anyone that wants to keep saying that I am in denial about the losses or that I keep making excuses for his losses as if they should be some other way can blow me. Try reading what I'm actually typing before you start accusing me of being a blind fan or a nuthugger.

From another cro cop fan: U couldn't be more right.
And as for the my question to UFCfan: He did dominate but he didn't control it. He was stalking him, he hit him a couple of times then took him to the ground, he succesfully got in the full mount and pounded him. Kongo got out and the axe kick followed. THEN Mirko starts retreating. Do u understand what I'm saying? It was the broken rib that made him look bad for the rest of the fight.
