Lightweight Division

This was a division that I really enjoyed watching but lately, with Pride gone.. it honestly just doesn't seem too interesting to me.. Sherk is pretty tough, but I think the UFC can really benefit by bringing over some of the japanese fighters that really dominated this division in Pride.

Please, bring over Gomi or Hansen. I know this is being unrealistic but I'd LOVE to see Genki Sudo back.. especially in the octagon.

Well, they did offer Hansen a deal and he turned them down.

Marcus Davis wants to fight Gomi, so it'd be nice if Gomi signed. Maybe he will someday.

The LW division is still a great division. I mean, you have Din, Florian, Edgar, Griffin, Tavares, Penn, Stevenson, Guida, and Fisher.

I honestly think that if Yamamoto came to the UFC, nobody in LW would beat him.

It would be a dream come true to see Kid come to the UFC 155 division...but I think Sherk would prolly beat him, and possibly 1 or 2 other guys. He would be a good draw though, and would gain fans pretty quick considering his size and appeal and how he KTFOs fools like it's his job. His wrestling is world class as well. Dana has said before that he wants him bad. But I do agree, we need more Japanese stars in the LW division. Genki would be awesome but at the same time I don't wanna see him get injured anymore.

I honestly think Genki's style of fighting will make Sherk clueless. Sherk will probably be thinking "WTF is this guy doing!??"

If Genki vs Sherk were ever to happen, which I know is very unlikely, I'd go all in for Genki.

EDIT: I also think Norifumi would school Sherk. Yes I said it.

Yea he retired citing lagging injuries and wanting to pursue acting and shit.

Kid would no doubt school Sherk if they weighed the same, but personally I think Sherk is just too big and too hard-headed for Kid. No doubt it would be a killer fight though, most likely to a decision unless Kid surprises me and is able to outwrestle Sherk (which is possible because Kid is an absolute BEAST when it comes to wrestling).

I believe the UFC's lightweights are better then the Pride lightweights. The Pride LW's will have to lose a few more pounds then they are used to, fight a different format of fight, fight with new rules, fight in the cage, and they would not be the dominating force that most people think. I think the pride fighter that would best transition to this format would be Gilbert. Besides that most would not live up to what everyone else thinks, or to what they should. This is my opinion though.
