Honestly? No...they don't need him. Not a lot of American UFC fans even know who Fedor Emelianenko is, so why should Dana White care whether he signs or not? SURE he was freakin' amazing over in Japan, but this is America. I loved Fedor in Pride, but I don't really care whether he joins the UFC or not. The UFC and Dana White have a lot of other great fighters to make up for not having Fedor.

hard to say... I personally just want to see him fight Randy, so they should just sign him for three fights just so that we can see that. Then he can do whatever he wants.

exactly. he is just another fighter. i think it all comes down to greed.

when all said and done its all about the almighty dollar in this case. im having a REALLY hard time believing that hes not signing simply because he cant get to fight in another organization for the duration of his contract... which would probably be like 4 fights and maybe 2 years at most. Or better yet that they wont let some no name fighters fight in from his camp or some bull like that.

no way.. its about money. so i say f that shit and let him waste the best years of his carrier in obscurity.

he a champ of a league that no longer exists. that's like the leading rusher from the USFL telling the NFL that he'll only sign if his high school quarterback is signed. they'll laugh at him and move on. either he wants in or not, either way the UFC moves on and still remains the dominant force in MMA. are you going to pay to watch him fight Tank Abbott or Mark Coleman again? hell no. Dana just needs to wait and get him for cheap a year from now.

I think Fedor needs the UFC more than the UFC needs Fedor. He will never have been on top of the MMA mountain if he can not win the UFC heavyweight title. At the same time, the UFC can't say they have all of the best fighters without signing Fedor. But they have most, and as long Roagan and Goldie dont mention the name of Fedor, most UFC fans will never know and Fedor will be forgotten if he signs any where else but UFC or EliteXC. Fedor in EliteXC would put a shit ton load of pressure on the UFC.

I would give to his demands, considering he is the best pound for pound martial artist in the world and the UFC claims to be the best MMA organization.

In Fedor we trust.

There seem to be three issues with Fedor and the UFC:

1. UFC exclusivity - Fedor wants to fight in Russia as well. I don't know where I stand on this one.

2. Fedor wants to compete in combat sambo, the UFC is affaid he gets hurt. Which is ridiculous, because they let other people compete in ADCC. Okay, in combat sambo you might get hit in the head, but with Fedor it's not very likely. The only time I've seen him get hit in sambo, it was by his "kid" brother Aleksander.

3. Fedor's managers want to bring in more Red Devil fighters into the UFC. I think that's a stupid demand, although I wouldn't mind seeing Roman Zentsov in the UFC. He could be a monster with elbows.

It would a bloody shame if Fedor is not coming to the UFC. A very big missed oppurtunity if this does not happen and I hope very much they can renegotiate.
