Is the interest in Tito Ortiz finally dead!

First off I think Tito is a great fighter and has beat great fighters e.g. Belfort and Wandy.

In the last 5 years Tito has lost only to the two most prized, well hyped and talented fighters in the UFC (Chuck and Randy), everyone else he has beaten convincingly (except rashad).

Not only this but Tito Ortiz is a poster boy for the UFC and is one of their biggest money draws.

Therefore it surprises me greatly that Tito being a well known and top UFC LHW isnt being talked about at all by anyone as being a contender, fighting a contender or fighting any of the big pride names in a UFC vs Pride way.

I would personally love to see Tito fight Shogun or Wandy again but there just doesnt seem to be any want for it.

I think Tito losing to Rashad and there being a quick rematch was the worst thing that could have happened to him.

Due to the result of that fight Tito has missed out on a huge amount of potential publicity in all this UFC vs Pride promotions and his name seems to be little more than a memory with names like Shogun, Wanderlai Silva, Chuck Liddell, Dan Henderson and Rampage Jackson floating around.

I say Tito needs to mix it up with some of the top former Pride guys and show everyone if he still has the ability to mix it up with the big boys. Otherwise he's just going to fade into obscurity.

What do you guys think?

Tito didn't lose, unless I'm reading what you were saying wrong.

I still think Titos a pretty decent fighter, I don't think he will ever hold the UFC light heavyweight title again but he still has the potential to at least do well in such a STACKED division. Some good fights that could draw in fans with him involved. Tito vs. Silva 2, Tito vs. Shogun, bring in Randleman and have him fight Tito, they don't seem to care for each other much. It would draw in a crowd for sure.

I think if Tito difinitively beats Rashad, he'll be on the road to the top again. After that, he need to finish, yeah I said it, finish some top tier guys like Wandy, Chuck, Shogun, Hendo, Rampage, Sokky... His lay N Pray style is getting old really fast.

At least he's entertaining before the fight starts

First off, he beat Vitor and Wandy, however questionable the decisions the fact remains that he beat 2 excellent fighters.

Secondly no i didnt mean to insinuate that Tito lost, im aware it was a draw.

I agree that Tito would need to beat Rashad definitivly in order for him to be considered a real contender.

How would everyone feel about Rashads contendership if he beat Tito definitivly?

Very good point. +rep.

I wouldn't put Rashad anywhere near the top until he beat any of the other top contenders that just entered from pride. I still see him as below Forrest and Jardine but that's just my opinion.

In the past 5 years tito has only dominatly beaten Ken Shamrock . He won split decisions vs vitor and forrest and a decision vs cote. He looks timid/afriad in all of his fights. He is not an impressive fighter at all and imo has/is over rated. He made a career off of ken.
