So if a promoter is guaranteed 37mill surely they would become lazy and only promote the fighters who get them that money and the rest can fight for crumbs on a terrible card on fight pass while the Ronda and Conners of the game make all the money.

What happened to Dana? When he was JUST a millionaire he was great, pushed the sport (not particular fighters) and built it up from nothing while making a shit load of money for himself.
Like many before him the richer he's got the more he wants and its not helping the sport at all.
Shame

If being President of the UFC is anything like being a CEO.

It means that Dana can pay himself more the better job he does screwing the people who work for him.

There are documented cases of CEO's firing as many employees as they can and paying themselves whatever the fired employees used to make.

That said it does seem like Conor gave up on fighting the second he got that big Aldo payday. There could be some truth to what Dana is saying.

Of course it's true that most people won't fight in an "exciting" (=risky for win and health) way if they get guaranteed big money. Easy to solve. Make base pay for (top earners) lower, but give guaranteed big bonuses for finishes and PPV cut.

Lmfao. Liddell and his anarchist complex strikes again.

I'd say you would struggle to find a person who does more on a day to day basis in MMA than Dana does.

Anyways, I can't get the video to play but the simple backup to the title is Conor McGregor. He can afford to tell them to fk off and try and get things on his track. Us fans miss out because there's a fighter not fighting. When a fighter is hungry and his focus is on getting paid, like Cerrone for example, there's nothing you can do to discourage them from looking for that pay cheque.
