The fight basically looked like boxing vs. Muay Thai.

If Chuck is going to be a standup specialist, he needs to use his legs or at the very least check kicks. Did you see the left side of his body? It was RAW.

While I wouldn't go as far as to say that Chuck is completely overrated, he did beat a lot of good fighters with the tools he has I will say he is one dimentional and the days of those type of fighters are over.

Tito is another example of guys with just one gameplan, once you get them out of their comfort zone they're toast.

You simply have to be more well rounded these days.

IMO Chuck will fight again and he will always have a puncher's chance but he will never be dominate again.

I was just really pissed of at Chuck after watching this fight. For some reason i felt sorry for Crocop but i just feel pissed at Chuck for losing this fight. And in my mind this has nothing to do with Chuck being too one dimensional or any of the other crap people are saying, those all just come down to being excuses. Chuck has power in his hands that very few people in the world have, this fight was his to win or lose and he blew it by never finding his rythm. A lot like Crocop when you think about it.

Chuck fights running backwards throwing 1-3 power shots. Jardine figured him out and just kept going in and dodging the counters, backing out when he was in trouble. Chuck's too scared to actually press forward and chase...

chaoyungphat can only hope to improve
Chuck is one dimensional, but his style could work if he improves it. If he trains with a better camp, he can still be a good fighter.

I wish i could say chuck has the chance to improve but he's to old and to set in his ways. The chuck we see now isn't gonna change to much. Maybe he'll start kicking again (which alota newbie fans don't know he used to do, but his leg kicks were once a big part of his game) but I can't see him deciding to ground and pound or go for subs. He knows jiu jitsu and he's a great wrestler but I just find it hard to believe he'll go for it.

I think the old greats are all getting upset, I'm starting to look to the new generation. I think MMA is in a transitional stage. I don't think there are really guys in the LHW devision right now who will be the next dominant champ. I'm looking at houston alexander pretty closely though. And rampage is looking real good... IDK. I'm just really disapointed in Chuck.

Seems to me, when Chuck fights guys who can take some good punishment and other great strikers, he gets in trouble. Happened with Rampage and it happened with Jardine. Jardine utilized other strikes in his arsenal and Chuck paid the price for only using his hands. Some of his punches looked sloppy as hell too.

I found the entire time I watched the Liddell/Jardine fight last night, I was screaming "use your leg kicks!" at Chuck. Seriously, what was he thinking? Chuck had a reach advantage and Jardine knew the only way to even that out would be to use leg kicks.

Chuck did surprise me by trying out a spinning backfist and spinning back-kick but aside from that he just looked WAY to predictable out there.

I will agree with this thread entirely, last night I was screaming at the TV for Chuck to try something as waiting for the one big shot wasnt working for him and it isnt like Jardine is the most well rounded fighter either, heck I dont even know who would come out on top on the ground what I do know is that Chuck obviously doesnt even have enough confidance to take another one dimensional striker to the ground, even when he is being beaten on his feet he refuses to move outsie his comfort zone.

Chuck needs to change his gameplan. Plain and simple...stalking opponents and picking shots isn't going to get him wins anymore. At least not against the up and coming competition.
