Chuck got in a routine of fighting like he does now, against inferior fighters for a long time. The UFC is ever evolving, and when Chucks claim to fame is his standup, and he gets schooled standing up by a huge underdog what does he have left?
When I saw Chuck use some more kicks, spinning back kicks, and spinning back hands it reminded me more of the old Chuck, but that is still just it.. Old. I dont think Chuck is near retirement time yet, but he needs to get with different trainers and change up his routine.
Obvious he isnt the stand up king anymore, he isnt fighting wrestlers anymore. He needs to work on better strike defense, needs to keep his hand up higher. When your opponents couldnt strike, or were afraid to strike with you, low hands worked. Everyone now knows they can get through your defense, and they know you can be KOed or at least rocked.
I dont think Jardine would have expected Chuck to try to take him down and GnP him, I cant see why Chuck didnt go for it.
