if you want to see the favirotes win, go watch wrestling!
i'm sick of everyone bitching when they're favirote picks lose cleanly! how many fighters so far this year have lost because they didnt take it seriously? stop giving fighters excuses for their loses, gsp lost because serra caught him with a huge right. cro cop lost because he was out performed in both fights. i can understand you getting pissed when a fighter gets screwed in a decision (matt hammil) but the majority of upsets this here have been stoppages. when an A class fighter stops a B class fighter he just dominated the opponent, when its the other way around its a fluke. will you guys stop picking favirotes and just enjoy the show.
how do you think these guys got to the top in the first place, they beat highly renouned fighters. im sure everyone thought gsp upset alot of people when he started out in the ufc. if your winning every fight, how do you expect other people to rise through the ranks. fighters can't be in the spotlight forever. all these 'upsets' is what makes mma so great, you just don't know whats going to happen. if it were like wrestling where you can pretty much predict all the winners it would be so boring.
and remember guys, points are just a number, its not like your losing hard earned cash or anything.
[/end rant]

I agree with everything you said. Shogun was unprepared and got beat by the better man on the day, no question. But I aint giving up on him, if anything this will make me like him more, now that a bucn of people who know nothing about him will be talking about how he sucks.

Thank you.
Some haven't quite caught on to it yet. This is a competitive sport. Certain fighters aren't "supposed" to win because they're a big favorite. No one is supposed to win as if it's a guarantee. In that case the underdog may as well come in and lay down. I'm sure there are some who wouldn't mind that
It shakes things up when the underdog wins. Apparently, it's been happening a lot lately, but it's the sign of the sport only growing as more and more are upping their game. It's going to take more to survive.
People invest too much emotion into the fighters, not enough into the sport.

You're spot on brother. Right now everybody is confused as to who the best Light Heavyweight is. I say does it really matter? I think it makes it more exciting that we don't know.

The UFC MMA must be the most unpredictable sport in the world. I got most of my picks wrong in the last two UFCs and I'm usually pretty good at predicting the winner in other sports like Tennis, Football, Rugby and Cricket. I bet many thousands of pounds (UK money) on sports, but I don't touch MMA.

It wouldn't bother me about the Liddell fight really, except for the fact that the Silva/Liddell fight was basically riding on it. I don't want to see Jardine/Silva, I want the damn Liddell/Silva fight already!! LOL, we've just waited so long for this to be put together that it is disappointing that again we are stopped dead in our tracks.

Lol, that is so funny because I was thinking about wrestling as well. You can try to plan these things out but you end up looking like an idiot. What I am really tired of is how each fighter who lost was sick, or in a bad place mentally, or whatever. If you choose to fight in that state and lose, then that is your choice and take it like a man!! If they come out with something saying Chuck or Shogun was injured or whatever I will scream.

It's not really their choice though. You can'tjust say 'Oh shit, put my back out. I'll fight tomorrow instead.'
Backing out of a fight does huge damage to fighters careers.
