Wanderlei is a true competitor. He's disappointed in Chuck's loss because this could delay their long-awaited match up even further, or in a sense weaken the thunder and hype behind it. This fight would have been perfect years ago when both men were dominating in their respective organizations and it continued to be teased over the years, but still nothing happened. Now it's continuing to lose steam. They're also both coming off of 2 losses, so if they were to fight one of them would be guaranteed a 3rd. That would not be a good place to be in.

yup, coming off 2 losses from both of their ends would not bode well and the hype would loses its steam. They need to probably get a couple wins under their belt to boos their confidence back up before a hype of this proportion can be set. albeit i would just say **** it and let those to grind at each other, as anyone here is ancy and hell to see who comes out victorious between these two.

its obvious that we're gonna have to wait even longer for chuck/wandy so until then this is what i wanna see happen. in december: wandy/rampage and forrest/houston or forrest/jardine 2 OR wandy/houston and rampage/forrest OR wandy/hendo 3 and rampage/forrest

The best thing for the UFC would be to pit them both against B level fighters to get back into the win column. After that they can duke it out and the fight would again have some luster. No one, especially Zuffa, wants to see Chuck OR Silva lose three straight fights. Dropping three in a row is pretty damning to a career, especially in a division that's so stacked like the LHW division is right now.

Yeah, but you have to realize Wanderlei got beat by Crocop whos a great fighter (or used to be) and in a heavier weight class. He also got beat by Dan Henderson whos probably a top 3 lhw. Chuck got beat by Rampage whos probably the number 1 lhw. But lost a decision to Kieth Jardin who isnt even very good.

Bottom line is the scope of the light heavyweight division is changing drastically and I believe the rankings need to be re-evaluated.

man I would still like to see this, it would still be a headliner to me, also it might actually bring the fire back into chuck, but the fresher wandy might take this, if chuck took it then ppl would say it's because of a rusty wandy and if it's a great fight then they could have a re-match anyway.

I duno though, if chuck couldn't get fired up for rampage and couldn't get fired up after a loss I doubt he would be bothered about the outcome lol.

Exactly. I think Chuck needs to be "back on the rise" before getting into such a highly anticipated bout. Also, Wanderlei will probably get a welcome to UFC fighter on a platter before facing off with Chuck. They need to build confidence in the fighters (namely Chuck), but also UFC/Zuffa wouldn't put these two in a position where they might lose 3 in a row, especially with Wandy's intro. Fans lose interest in fighters so fast it's not even funny. Chuck and Mirko were made out to be gods and now that they've lost (twice) all I hear is how they should retire, blah blah blah. The Chuck/Wandy fight would be bad for business at this point.
