GSP will get the next shot because he dominated the number 4 WW, and is the biggest draw at WW in the UFC so he'll get the title shot easy.

Fitch/Parysian at 79, winner gets loser of Serra/Hughes, and who is ever more impressive gets the title shot.

Hughes was the reigning Champion. Also the most dominant Champion in UFC history with many Title defenses under his belt. He sort of deserves an immediate Title shot. GSP is coming off of one win after losing in his 1st Title defense. I think he should have at least one more victory before being in contention for another shot, especially in a division now so stacked.

Although GSP is that damn good and has already run through many top contenders in the past. But the division is deeper than ever. There are many up and comers he hasn't tested yet that are also close to earning a shot, namely Fitch. I wouldn't mind seeing a rematch with Karo somewhere down the line either.

Also, aren't there rumors UFC is possibly heading to Canada in January? It could be perfect. Because if GSP is next in line to get a Title shot it will be a long wait anyway, since the new TUF series has only just commenced and we'll have to wait till they settle their little grudge match then an added 3-4 months before the next title defense GSP may as well keep busy. It sucks that the belt is being put on hold like this, but whatever.

grapplegod has a little shameless behaviour in the past
I agree Fitch/GSP makes the most sense, they both beat top ten guys and GSP really needs another victory to justify another title shot, hell Rich had two fights leading to his rematch in a much weaker division.

On a side note guys really have to stop this not fighing their campmates thing, I realize its hard to face a friend but if you want to be competetive and you fight in the same weight class you have to accept that possibility.

You have good points and i agree with you. I think i read somewhere that when/If the UFC comes to Canada in Jan, GSP wont be on the card. He will be on the card on the second event that comes to canada. (i read the UFC wanted to come twice in 2008)

Fitch / GSP does make sense but i dont think the UFC has built up Fitch enough yet to fight a fan favorite like GSP.
