Nate was always a tall and lanky 155er but at 170 he was too physically weak for the bigger guys, if he has managed to pack on some muscle for the biggest fight of his life then good for him, I suspect time will proove Nate is a 155er though.
No no, posting this so I can gloat with extra verve when Conor takes out a guy much bigger then him with ease. Packing on extra muscle and getting slower isn't gonna help Nate. He will be crushed like a paper cup!! Like taking candy from a baby!! Easy Peasy lemon squeasy!!
Nate looks about 190lbs in that picture. Sure he's bigger but it's not like he's jacked or even cut up. Nate has always had a hard time making 155 so why not finally commit fully to 170lbs.
Nate definitely has a larger frame, but Conor is a bit bigger than most at 145 so that's the irony. Conor should have fought Nate at 155 which would have drained him further and reinforced his (Conor's) cut regimen. He was eating steaks leading up to the fight.
I mean Conor is certainly packing on muscles to hit the 170lb mark. How's he going to head back south without draining himself. It was a major detour for em although I think he's enjoying it. For once in the last year or so the spotlight has been off him and shifted towards other divisions.
yes but how lethal did Nate look against Johnson at 155. In terms of true size I think naturally McGregor is only a shade lighter than Nate. His last 145 cut was in human, he looked like a concentration camp inmate. Nate's 155 cut wasn't nothing like as severe. Nate never needs to worry about fighting again so I doubt if he is concerned about getting heavier.
It's good that Nate is finally filling out his frame, I wonder if he can't make 155 with the IV ban. He might manage to make a MW run when it's all said and done, that is if the UFC gives him the Bisping treatment and keeps him away from bad fights.
All the little Connor McGregor lads and school children love to pat Conor on the back for fighting a skinny fat LW when he is a huge FW himself. They all forget where he got his whole style from.
