Hughes is one of the greatest fighters that MMA has ever seen, defeating a lot of solid fighters and being a great, dominant champion. He'll go down as top 5.
Hughes has talked about moving up to middleweight for one title fight, I don't know if that will ever materialize. As mentioned, I see GSP beating him again.

I rank Hughes as the greatest champion in mma history. His two title runs are the best in the sport. Other champions like Vanderlei held the belt for 5 years, but hardly defended it. It's real weird to see Liddell falling off and Hughes on the verge of retirement. Truly an end of an era for the UFC.

If he has 2 or 3 fights left in him then I don't think we are seeing him go up to MW.

He's mentioned it in the past. I guess if he somehow beats both Serra and GSP, he'll go after Silva. I doubt it too though.

Wow, there source is an unaired reality TV show.

That is pretty sad. I guarantee Hughes was just telling a story or something. This confirms it. UFCJunkie = Crap.

Support Mixed Martial Arts, not Ultimate Fighting

I just got done watching the show and it showed in the preview for next week him saying something about it but it was very brief but I get where you're coming from and where do they get the footage because I've notice they've been coming out with the reviews a little early before the show gets done?

I hope he doesn't retire too soon since the welterweight division is getting some steam. I still wanna see Hughes vs. GSP 3, Hughes vs. BJ Penn 3, Hughes vs. Fitch, Hughes vs. Koscheck and Hughes vs. Swick still!
