It’s been nine months since former women’s bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey last fought, losing her title to Holly Holm at UFC 193 in November. There’s been much speculation as to when “Rowdy” would return to the Octagon. That remains unknown, but we know when she won’t be fighting.
During an appearance on the UFC Unfiltered Podcast, UFC president Dana White revealed that Rousey will not be part of the inaugural UFC event in New York on November 12.
“She’s definitely not fighting in New York,” he said.
No bouts have been announced for the UFC 205 fight card at Madison Square Garden, but White plans to start putting together the fight card this week.
“I’m actually going to start building the New Your card this week,” he said.
Several fighters have expressed interest in competing at UFC 205, including interim light heavyweight champion Jon Jones, former middleweight titleholder Chris Weidman, lightweight champion Eddie Alvarez, and Donald Cerrone, among others. While the first UFC event in New York is expected to be a stacked fight card, Rousey won’t be a part of it.
I can understand why everyone thinks that Ronda is going to come back but it looks like she is good with Hollywood. Not to mention she doesn't have to come back at all and seems to have no motivation at all to come back. She's making money in Hollywood.
Yeah but if she doesn't want to come back she doesn't want to come back.
