BJ is the most intelligent grappler. The most intelligent striker is probably Lyoto and I would say Couture as the most intelligent fighter.

Yeah, Couture is definitely the most intelligent fighter. The fight plans he has and the way he calls fights, he's almost never wrong, he really understands the sport of MMA.

Yeah, it is crazy how accurately he picks fights. He also wins fights that on paper he probably shouldnt because he always comes up with the best game plans. |

I agree 100%.
I think Fedor's the smartest fighter because when he does get into a bit of trouble, he listens to his corner and knows EXACTLY how to end the fight ASAP. Look at his fight with Fujita, as soon as he was rocked, he rebounded and finished the fight almost immediately.
Look at his fight with Randleman, look at his fight with Hunt.. I could go on. Fedor is hella smart. |
